I saw this movie in a theater when I was in high school. I loved it then and still do and have never understood why it wasn't a bigger hit. Many people I've mentioned it to while discussing old movies haven't heard of it.

As much as I enjoyed the film, this song should be a classic in its on right. It’s actually the song that resonates with me more than anything in the film. I’ve just listened to this for the first time since I last saw the film in the 1990s and the song, which has always stayed in my mind, is even better than I remembered it

Casheasy - I am exactly the same age as you and my parents did the same thing at the Southington, CT drive-in. Such amazing memories. I wouldn't think of bringing my 10 year old to see this movie - as amazing as it is - but yet I am so very happy my parents brought me. Were we tougher back then? Paul Williams is one of the greatest songwriter ever in my opinion - up there with Lennon & McCartney, and Dee Dee Ramone. Thank you Zerokomma for posting this amazing video and song!!

In the good old days when you got 2 films for your money, me and my mate went to see this and Enter the Dragon. We got there at opening time and stayed and watched both films twice! I have both films on DVD now but the one that gets the most play is definitely this one. This music at the end is now on my mp3 player. RIP George Kennedy.

If I knew the way I'd go back home But the countryside has changed so much I'd surely end up lost Half remembering names and faces So far in the past On the other side of bridges that were burned once they were crossed Tell me where Where does a fool go When there's none left to listen To a story without meaning That nobody wants to hear Tell me where Where does a fool go When he knows there's something missing Tell me where Where do I go from here Where do I go from here To get back home Where my childhood dreams and wishes still out number my regrets Get back to a place where I can figure on the odds Have a fighting chance to lose the blues And win my share of bets Tell me where Where does a fool go When there's none left to listen To a story without meaning That nobody wants to hear Tell me where Where does a fool go When he knows there's something missing Tell me where Where do I go from here Where do I go from here
