I made these yesterday for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations. BEST cookie ever!!! I did, however, have to bake them at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. At 8 minutes they were still raw in the middle. I used a mid-sized cookie scoop. Thank you so much for the recipe. Merry Christmas.

My great gramma made divinity every Christmas. My momma bought her a big ole kitchen aid mixer and I dont think she ever used it! She used a hand held mixer that mustve been 100 years old but she loved it. She mixed everything with it and it never quit. 🌲💜

I can’t believe a famous cook like you Paula just uses a hand mixer. I have arthritis in my hands so I went right on to QVC and bought my KitchenAid Stand Mixer in April 2020. I just love it and it is one of the best kitchen purchases I have made.

Ms. Deen I hope I hear from you but if anyone can help I will be a happy camper! I am from Texas but now live in England and have little or no access to American products as I live in a small village. I splurged this year and bought some Maraschino cherries off the internet at About $6.00 per small jar, the Crisco was way too expensive for my budget so what can I substitute for the Crisco? I have access to Butter, Lard, Margarine (called bakers block here). Can I use any of these to replace the Crisco? I have learned to substitute many things but the Crisco has me stumped! Any help is appreciated in advance.😁

These look yummy! I like the cousin; he’s nice. Maybe it harkens back to childhood antics or rivalry, but Paula seemed a tad testy and lippy around him 😂. I’m sure it’s probably just subconscious. We all know how Paula is when she just “fawns” over someone-and she doesn’t with him-throwing in her two cents “suggestions” on his recipe and whatnot 😂. That said, it was nice seeing their “real” interaction. I’d eliminate the unnecessary food coloring in the icing. Instead of rushing to sample the hot cookies, I wish they would’ve finished the rest of them when cooled so I could see the final product in its entirety; maybe even presented on a plate-which they could hold up to the camera.🎄
