Thank u Paula. Proud to say I'm a Dougherty Co.High grad. Albany has changed so much. I live on Lake Blackshear, in Crisp Co.,now, still near, so I still head to Albany for shopping. I swam and skated at River Bend, and Radium Springs. When water to icy at Radium Springs, we headed to pool at River Bend. Just lost my husband 10days ago to Covid n Dementia, so glad u took me back to places we loved. River Bend and even Artic Bear. Plant Mitchell. You were right when you said "It all started at River Bend", wish I had dime for every mile we drove on Hwy 19. I knew you were from Albany, and thank you for giving me this trip home. I have no idea why this popped up, but needed that to help soothe my soul n pain today. Oh God, I wish I could turn back time.

Hey Ms Paula, u r breaking my heart with ur beautiful memories....if u need someone to talk to or just the support...I know u have family but sometimes a stranger that has experienced some of ur angst is just the person to talk with...I do not want a thing from u Ma’am just understanding, peace, and serenity...u r loved by millions...u have to know that...but u know how the media is ....so cruel...they love destroying lives without even doing any follow up...we love u Ms Paula...hey Michael...beautiful journey...

I do not know what brought me to your videos today, but my mother and I used to watch you every Saturday morning. She passed away 12 years ago, September 15. She was a wonderful cook, and she used to make alot of your recipes. I made your gooey cake the other week, and thought of you. I miss your cooking shows so much, I am sure they took alot of time to make but I really did enjoy them. I am retired now, and still do alot of cooking. Thank you for sharing. You will always be so special to me.

I watched your video tonight and cried. I grew up in Winter Garden GL, Daddy was the production manager for Tilden Groves and we lived right by the tractor barn. Once I got in high school I had to meet my boyfriends at Burger Kink cause no one could find me, and after the date when they took me home I said slow down and go thru this wide middle and they thought I was nut, but low and behold there was home. When I married mom and dad gave us the property and we had our family till my husband retired from The City of Winter Garden after 33years, we sold and moved to Abbeville, Ga..CUlter Shock!!!!! I am a Ga girl now, I have only been here 2 years totally understand your attachment to the land where you grew up where your home stood.....mine is where that Orange grove used to be. I haven't made friends here yet, so I am very homesick. But I am sure that will pass in time. Im so glad you got to go back to your childhood safe place, your place that gives you, your inspiration. May God always Bless you.

I've never seen this before. I always wondered what she meant by River Bend. We still have Georgia power . Get the bill every month. lol !! My aunt Linda used to be the secretary in Atlanta for the vice president of Georgia power for many years. I believe she sales real estate now. I wonder if I've ever been through there when my family and I were headed to Florida? I don't know what year they changed the interstates or Hwy ? Anyway, I'm glad I found this video. Thanks for sharing!!

Hi Paula - the other name (of US #19) that you are trying to recall for Michael - would it be “Smokey Park Highway”? When we first traveled from Toronto to Florida in the late 50’s/early 60’s, there were no Interstate Highways, as you said in this video, and we traveled that same stretch of #19. I’ve been a big fan of yours forever! 🇨🇦
