Hi Paul and Carol. I love your videos. I think the two of you are a lot of fun to watch. I want to add a tip. The restaurant you look in the window at 39:00 is actually a Korean restaurant in case anyone thinks those dishes are Japanese. Love you guys and think your tips and suggestions are really helpful! Thanks for sharing.

The back of the bus is always the best. "Party in the back" has been our motto for escorted tours (and have been on many). You two would fit in fabulously in the back. 😂. Getting older now so doing our 1st cruise with Azamara next month (Baltic Capitals) and 21 day Viking River cruise next year. How did you like the comparison between escorted tour (unpacking and packing and cramped days on bus) and "hotel" cruising?

Celebrated my 50th birthday 2006 on a fabulous silversea cruise in Japan . It was absolutely amazing..did Nagasaki, Hiroshima & a very emotional day in a little village nr Kagoshima called chiran where the young kamakazi pilots left from for there final mission knowing that they wouldn't return... So emotional...but the whole vist to Japan was absolutely brilliant & so many places to list ... Enjoy your trip both of you ... Luv your posts as I've said not cruise that I would do as being spoilt by silversea since 2005... Been cruising since 1985 ..so to me your newbies 😊... Love every moment..

A superb blog! Fantastic. Great images and commentary. Brought back memories of my bonkers solo trip about 20 years ago. After a lot of trouble and helpful intervention of friendly locals who could see I was struggling I was able to find familiar things to eat and to travel on the subway for the five days I was there. But I managed to see Sensō-ji, the ancient Buddhist temple in Asakusa... and the grounds and outside of the Tokyo Imperial Palace. Looking forward to your next instalment!😊

We have a scramble crosswalk here in Richmond BC Canada. You press the button for the direction you want, even diagonal. Can you tell me what car fenders have to do with guitars, did I miss something? I want to see that Hachi movie now. Bowing makes so much more sense than handshaking. One never knows where the other person has touched with their hands. Yuk. Thx for video.

HI their enjoying your videos just wandering what month did you visit Japan as I have been looking into going their and noticed that June is rainy season and your weather looked great , I am looking at the Celebrity millennium cruise 12 day itinerary and princess cruises for 2026 and we like celebrity , which one do you prefer princess or celebrity, note the Millennium is not an edge type ship but looks good on other you tube videos

Very enjoyable and educational video. Visited Tokyo many years ago so some nice memories for me. Noted back then many wore masks and today even more. It is way more than a covid thing with the Japanese. Thanks for the video.

Yes it is customary when they have colds and flu, good manners which we should all do. I live in Richmond a suburb of Vancouver, BC and in Richmond we have 60% Chinese. Many wear masks all the time they are among people, not just since Covid. It makes total sense and I do now and never had Covid nor have caught a cold since before 2020. Good wishes.
