My grandparents worked for Liz Whitney when she owned the estate. My mother was born in 1933, and grew up there.

If I ever end mega rich I would buy it and eventually return it to Middleburg as a working museum dedicated to our history and the equine area.

That is a great idea Jimmy. I like it

I was wondering if this had sold. I was working for a race horse trainer back in the 1970s and we kept the horses there. Can’t remember if Liz Tippet had it then. Love the renovation. Ms. Tippet never cared for it like it is now.

It is still for sale Barbara.

@@PaulBensonEV Cool! I’ll take two! Good grief, just the sheer maintenance and utilities and taxes alone would bankrupt the average multimillionaire.

Ms. Tippet did care deeply about this place, she simply outlived her money. And, she was quite ill her last years and it distracted her from the day to day activities.

Now asking price has dropped to 29 million now.

@@PaulBensonEV I used to work for Verizon. Upperville was one of my areas to cover. I had been to this farm quite a few times starting back before the Brennans bought it. If I remember the last name right. I started going out there working on phone lines in 1999 before it was remodeled. It is an absolutely beautiful property. I had some tours of parts of the property by one of the head guys overseeing the property. He was telling me the history while showing me around. It was kinda like a history lesson while I was being shown where phone lines were so I could fix them. I got to know the property very well. I was still going there when renovations started but never saw the finished property. I had spoke to Maureen quite a few times. They had also purchased Cook's old farm. I loved working that area. It definitely gives you an old time country feel. There were alot of property owners in that area at the time that were past Llangollen Farm that would ask VDOT to not cover the roads completely in gravel when they would grade them. The owners wanted more of a true dirt road to keep it like it was back in the day.
