I have been using that "Rubber Band technology" for many years on all my rifles, as I was taught to hunt with the bolt up, which acts as an extra safety. The second thing it does when slinging your rifle is it eliminates the bolt sliding back and the subsequent loosing loaded rounds, when hunting Cheers

Hey Paul. I know this is an old video. Just wondering how that sauer ceratech held up for you? I'm thinking about getting one in 308 or 30-06 to upgrade from my 243.

Scope zoomed in, That was me a couple weeks ago 🤦🏾 A bunch of fur, yep sure was. Zoomed out and gone. Every mistake is a lesson learnt the hard way. Kinda proud I didn't just pull the trigger.

When I practice at home should I put electrical tape on the barrel?
@PaulBoagsOutdoors
@PaulBoagsOutdoors 4 жыл бұрын
I only use the tape when I’m in the bush to keep the mud and dirt out of the barrel

Thx for the practical, easy to remember tips, Paul. For me, safari slings make things easier, qucker & less movement to shoulder the rifle. Looking forward to more time in the high country with you.

Loving these tips videos. Would love to see a video on walking through the Bush, people always say to walk slowly but how slow is slow? How quiet should you really be, do you have to avoid every stick and leaf so you don’t make a sound, should you stick to fire trails cause you can be quieter? And then how does that change when you see a deer and still need to move to get a shot.

Great video Paul, thankyou. Your rifle appears to be a Sauer, is there a (are) reasons for your choice of rifle?
@PaulBoagsOutdoors
@PaulBoagsOutdoors 4 жыл бұрын
Yep it’s a Sauer ceratech in 30-06 with a Zeiss conquest V6 3.5-15X56 on top. It’s a great Firearm that shoots great and is not to expensive that is made to do the job not look pretty. I like the 3 position Saftey, the 5 shot flush fitting magazine, that it ceracoted and the over all feel of it when you hold it ready to shoot and when you do shoot it.

@@PaulBoagsOutdoors I like that, many believe that they protect their little secret spot, yet territory is endless (almost)! I was youg when i was first introduced to red deer in Grampains by Otto Ruff, and i became a member of ADA that year. He showed me a lot of things and a lot of his places, like a good person he was! We worked together at Rowntree Hoadley in Faukner! Real mate! When I learned about Sambar, no one wanted to help me. Was told it was too hard, ghost deer. Anyhow, I went out on my own and shot 2 does on my second day out.. I used my Sako .270 and my own loads, nosler partition 130 gr, put them down instantly! Was I talk of the town in Wodonga/Albury!
