Hello Paul, came by again since a long time of absence but I am very happy that you are looking great and I enjoyed the whole steps for fitting the parts together. The absolute accuracy and pleasure you have is so relaxing. I send greetings from Germany (close to Cologne, where you had been somewhen in your career)! Have a good one and I will come by next week! 👍😘🌞🍀💪

Damn, I was waiting for Paul to turn the crank at the end to see how much the chain tension varied. Always been super curious as to how small the tolerances have to be, in order for the chain slack to look constant... Would've also been good to see a close view of the chainring teeth as the ring turned on its shiny new centre bore.

Paul I love you’re your. And I get the ancient methods here, cotter pins for the crank to spindle, bolt through chainring to crank arm . But I would have been interesting to keep the old with a bit of new, like a spline drive sprocket and some splines on the crank to spindle.

The microfiber towels are great to have around when you want to wipe something clean like when you need to acetone parts for welding or to wipe things clean for reassembly. But man they are a pain when your machining around them that for sure. I like the box of rags that Lowe’s sells I think It’s T-Shirt materials they don’t attract chips/swarf. The bike is going to be amazing!!!

That was my thought (scare) too, from there on I was like; well all is out the window now… I cannot stop Paul, nor should I… he knows what he’s doing for sure. But we are all waiting for that first drivetrain spin and look how constant the chain tension is and see how good everything is lined up and round. Fingers crossed, and Paul, you are doing a damn fine job with this bike!

microfiber grabs everything, they're annoying, but they can also be a little hydrophobic on top of everything so they're not even good for washing windows or other water based things. I'm not sure what they are good for- maybe they're just a way to use plastic instead of cotton for cheapness?
