Almost two years ago we invested a lot in to having a portion of our property fencing replaced with colourbond fencing ( metal sheet ); on top of the fence we further installed cat-rollers which do a great job, assuming your fence is ~1.8m or taller ( to force the cats to be on their 'last reach' as it were ).
Unfortunately, one of our cats, enticed by the behaviour of some of the local wildlife, discovered the trick of digging under the fence to see what was on the other side. Twice this happened and we had to close up the "Wedge" as we call it until we could come up with a solution to stop this digging out behaviour.
The solution we came up with was to buy two pallets of concrete blocks ( 390x190x90mm) and place them underside between the existing posts in such a way that they also contribute towards inhibiting snake ingress.
In total there's 36 fence segments that need this modification, this morning I reached the halfway point ( 3 more segments done this afternoon, so 15 to go now ).
