Macbook has "NO CHARGE" after dead battery replacement. Bad battery or did someone make an ooopsie?

Macbook Pro Max A2485 has come in with no battery charge after the original battery had been replaced by another agent.
Symptoms are that it'll try to boot but crash out, even on Magsafe3 which is a bit unusual as you should be able to run directly from Magsafe3, though not USB-C.

Indeed. Unfortunate but these things do happen. Biggest downside of course is the loss of the safe behaviour due to those 3rd party packs almost always putting out full voltage even when the data-flex isn't connected.

Hi paul I have a quick question about your boardview, I purchased an older version and wiped out my pc, but on your website I only see the new version to download but I would have to pay for an upgrade, where can I download the older versions of your boardview, thanks.

If you put in your licence details you should be able to download R1499 which is the last of the series/version-4 edition. If you want to upgrade to V5 that'll require the upgrade purchase. Drop me an email if you can't find the link for R1499.

Really selective corrosion there. A bug event? Is that insect deposits? Rest of the board looked quite pristine.

Hello. Thank you very much for your video. Your tips and demonstrations really help me a lot in solving problems with the equipment I take in for repair. However, now I'm stuck with a device exactly like the one in your video. An a2485 with the same board. I don't know if you could help me. The device is working normally via HDMI, but completely without an image on the main screen. There is no image indication or even a backlight. I know it would be easier to use a spare screen, but unfortunately I can't buy a screen to test this device. So I would like to know how I can perform tests and identify the problem. I believe there are two problems: a video problem and a backlight problem. However, I don't know how to proceed with this model of device and without a test screen. Thank you very much for your attention and any help you can give me.

I don't have any great advice. I recently had a similar issue and it was likely the TCON board in the display itself. Seems to be a relatively common problem.

@pldaniels Thank you! So do I need to buy a new LCD to test and replace it? The problem is that in my country imports are 12x the value of 1 dollar. 200 dollars here is the same as 1200 dollars. That's why I asked for some help before to buy a LCD. Thank you.

I did end up putting down a couple of strips of tesa tape to try keep them in place. I do wish 3rd party battery makers used decent pull strips even if the original design didn't.
