I'm a great fan of your bass covers planet earth by Duran Duran kicked my ass triplets are not easy playing fast.i must ask why go to e flat open on Mr brightside when there is no need and confusing also if u only use standard tuning? Esp on bass chords OK I understand if u r using open low e flat but not case here ?

that's just the way the killers played it

If you play it in standard you end up playing on sharps and flats, which can get quite confusing. Simply tune down to the Killers tuning and play it in the place it was played on the original.

Excellent. No open strings. Why not do this in standard tuning?

Hi, this is the tuning The Killers use. I always try to replicate exactly what the original musician does. Thanks for watching.

I think I will try this in standard tuning on my eight string bass just to see how it sounds, could be fun!

@@PaulDelBelloYT -- I agree with you on trying to replicate exactly what the original musician does, (just as an exercise, if for no other reason) -- I'm learning this one tuned down, as well as standard tuning... Why standard tuning? Because if I'm ever good enough to be in a wedding band, I'll be playing this song, and might not have time to tune down... Having said that, -- I'm looking for high and low for someone to transcribe Ed King's bassline on the original recording of Freebird. Ever listened to the isolated bass on that one?
