One of the most underated songwriters to come out of the 90's. Had to have a listen to this when it popped up, hearing Paul Draper's voice again took me straight back to 97's 'Attack of the Grey Lantern'. Saw them a few times between 95-98, they were always supporting other bands constantly till the 1st album came out, then i started going to their gigs, sadly they never got past the hurdle of playing their own huge gigs mainly cos of the competition of so many other guitar bands, the early mid 90's thru to late 98/99 had a huge amount of guitar bands churned out so they mainly stayed on the guildhall/Astoria/university venue gigs circuit touring, although they did support some huge bands at big gigs like Manic Street Preachers Manchester Nynex gig in May 97. One thing i always loved was their early b-sides up to 1999 and early E.P. singles (e.g. Take it Easy Chicken). I'm pretty sure there is a Mansun double album of their b-sides and unreleased songs. It's good to have him back, he wrote so many great original experimental songs for the first couple of albums and also loads of great b-sides that could have easily been album tracks and although he's been here and there for the last couple of years, he's been under the radar, good to hear new stuff, it's about time now.

I wonder if the lyric "But the sounds of trains and summer rain , they serve to take me back to where I always feel at home" is reference to the Porcupine Tree song Trains, or rather how Steven grew up next to a train station. Food for thought.

Steven Wilson as a slightly dystopian Max Headroom? I had this recommended on KZbin and on first listen I was curious. Second play, through something better than my Mac speakers and I'm hooked. Shades of lots of sounds I love... Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears but, like a good blended wine, those attributes are used to an overall effect rather than being wholly relied upon. Thank you KZbin and whatever algorithms you use. I feel I have someone called Paul Draper to discover.

This was an absolute belter of a track. I wasn't sure how Wilson and Drapers' voices would work together, but it's really rather brilliant! Also, the abandoned setting for the video is a great idea - something engrossing about the erosion of a long-forgotten settlement.
