Shows that we're all only human, and that we all have things that we're afraid of. Alice Cooper is such a cool guy. He's not afraid, however, of telling people that he's a Christian, though, so that, too, is cool with me!

It was really disrespectful of James to bring out the balloons. I have a phobia, not a common one, and if anyone exposes it to me I cry out of fear. I understand these people, especially because I'm not afraid of anything except the object of my phobia. If I were Alice, I would've left. I'm not kidding. Guys it's fine. It's all in good fun. Alice is tough, he isn't gonna cry because of a balloon. If I were there and told them I was absolutely horrified of something, and they brought it out, I would honestly take it in good fun. And he isn't even horrified of them, he just doesn't like the sound. I know exactly what he is talking about. I don't mind balloon sounds, but that scratchy sound on some coats, or fabrics. AGH! Gives me shivers, I hate it.

I think when you realize how easy it is to be fooled and how easy it is to fool humans, it is a bit scary. xD I hate certain high sounds or more specifically, nails against a chalkboard. I know some people hate the sound of people smacking their lips or the plastic sound. There are people who hate the styrofoam sound.

Pauley getting on James for using another's phobia is similar to why I go after people who use "homophobia" as a word. Real people have real phobias, and for it to be used inappropriately really hurts the phobia cohort.

I dunno how applicable this is to homophobia, but speaking as a trans person, there is a move to using the term "transmisia" rather than transphobia to embody the kind of discrimination against trans people. In broad ways, using transmisia, which is trans + the Greek word for hate departs from medical recognition of phobia and allows people to no longer defer to that, and "legitimate fear" of trans people.
