The harmony at 2:33 is a succession of major chords alternating 5ths and minor 3rds starting from C (C major, G major, Bb major, F major, etc), but each other chord is played as its second inversion, resulting in a chromatic descending line of a whole octave (C, B, Bb, A, etc). Just noticed it after years and thought I'd share it lol.

It is a similar composition similar to the harmony in the verse of Hotel California (Bm, F#, A, E, etc.). In fact, one of the guitars plays precisely the chromatic descending line (B, Bb, A, Ab...).

@@hermesalcione Nice one! Right after I commented this I watched a video of Paul himself explaining this progression in the Fuzz Universe instructional video. The harmonic idea is similar in regards to the bass line, but he starts from D major, ascends by 4ths (D, G, C, F, etc) but alternates third and second inversions of these chords (D/C, G/B, C/Bb, F/A, etc). Honestly it sounds kind of awkward (especially when you sing the arpeggios over that) and wasn't expecting that, but it's not bad either.

I don't know enough theory to follow all that, but what I do understand is cool!

@meinukey It mainly consists of carpoothian minor but one could look at it as a hungarian one-third diminished minor with a raised 15th

Paul's best collection of composition to date in my opinion. I still remember buying the Space Ship One Live DVD at my local guitar store as a kid.

All good with the currently paul gilbert blues staff.. but this album and the previous ones are the best. They are the albums that define Gilbert's playing style and creativity i dont know why dont make new material like this. Even the sound is better
