When people ask me why I love Christian metal, and especially Christian thrash metal so much, I play Deliverance for them. They are my favorite Christian metal band.

I look at the comments and notice 7,me! make it 8 and say to myself why! very talented band, been listening to them since 87. Their messages are on point, but then realized Christian's, believers are a small majority in this country. Scripture says, the road to heaven is narrow and very few will find it, but the road to hell or destruction is wide and many will go through it. Christianity is not popular and what is happening in this country is what Jesus warned us about. Christians will soon see persecution like we never seen before. Prepare our hearts.

@@mrtoothless I listen to them on my stereo, ipod and such. Is that what you mean by where? They are not going to be very prominent on airwaves and such since they are Christian. (Please continue conversation. I want to know what you meant by "where?" It's very unclear). I am in Oklahoma, that's literally "where" in my case.

This VHS was on repeat in my room in 1991…this song in particular has always been a favorite. I can’t believe every metal head in the world hasn’t heard it. It is as good as it gets!!!

Deliverance really helped my thought process in day to day living. I now walk with the spirit of Christ in my heart & deliverance (& Pastor Bob) are to thank for my relationship with Christ. I still to this day crank Deliverance & Seventh Angel Almost on a daily basis. Thank you guys for everything. God bless.

I wore this VHS tape out when I was a kid...Deliverance was so ridiculously heavy. Of course I'd go on to listen to MUCH heavier stuff over time, but Jimmy's rhythm guitar playing was awesome. When it comes to the whole "animal sacrifice" thing you have to understand the time period...this was squarely during the "satanic panic" era of the 80s. The church was heavy into pointing out backwards masking in secular music (even when it wasn't actually there), the devil was everywhere, and only Christian metal was safe to listen to. Little did they know, they were part of my gateway into heavier and heavier secular music. Somehow, I never grew horns and a tail and started sacrificing animals though. I guess I was one of the lucky ones. ;)
@harrychristian429111 ай бұрын
Are you trying to defend animal sacrifice because a certain amount of people were doing it? I don't understand. Maybe you mean that he mentioned it because of the talk or the hype at the time? To whatever degree it was actually happening then, I'm sure it's more now, just not as newsworthy. You have to realize though, that the preponderance of your comment has me wondering about what kind of person you currently are and why you would make light of animal sacrifice. In short, what are you getting at? Are you disappointed that you don't resemble satan more? If you're actually a holy roller that is just trying to be a little funny, disregard. I'm not in the least against heavy Christian music and am a certified holy roller myself. I have also in recent years drifted into heavy secular music but have come back.
