If they all started like that, I don't believe they would sell many electric starters. British motorcycles will never be beaten for their beauty, heart and soul. Your vids make my day

I know these vlogs are blokey and all. The bike reminds me of a bike a lady friend of mine Anne used to ride. She had a Norton like this one and a Triumph Bonneville and was riding until the late 1990's. She was a truly fabulous lady and never ever threw a wobbly. She had many biker friends and preferred the company of men. Alas I heard she passed away last February as I no longer live in the area she lived for many years. She was in the Midlands and I am in The North East. My tribute to her and a good vlog Paul.

My biggest regret was selling my 62 BSA A10 Super Rocket. Lovely bike, thanks for the video. I used Duchams oil in mine which was green.

Im not bored i love these videos,i learned how the reserve works , maybe the green in the oil is a dye for leak detection with a black light

I reckon you'd have identified the absence of those fuel fitting washers as soon as you laid eyes on this BSA Paul. Experience and expertise have no substitute!

Best of luck getting the rocker boxes back on if removed and getting the tappets into the push rods, even if you use "The Comb" they are a nightmare, unlike the Triumphs of the day they was a piece of cake

I have a secret method which works well, I might film it if I have to go there!
@hullygully113516 күн бұрын
@@paulhenshaw4514 I have even known people drilling a large hole in the centre of the tappet cover so they could get their fingers in and filling the hole with a BSA rubber plug, the same as used on the petrol tank

1:05 PTFE tape on a petrol tap…?? Poly-tetra-floura-ethylene if my memory almost serves me correctly. Always thought that stuff was for water only, and not even approved for domestic household gas pipes (though it worked wonderfully for me in that role). My concern would be that it was likely to get soft on a petrol tank. Could be wrong though. Peace 🏴

That excellent start was really promising, but I hope the lack of washers on the fuel tap is not the first of a series of petty faults. The low profile tyres look peculiar & will have dropped the gearing quite a bit.
@agrajag86817 күн бұрын
The only oil that's green I can think of is Duckhams, my spelling might be naff, and that's for cars.
@wheater517 күн бұрын
The oil doesn’t know or care whether it’s in a bike or a car engine. Unlike more modern bikes, British bikes of that period had different oil in the clutch and gearbox anyway. Having said that, I was never a fan of Duckham’s oil.
