All Americans who are 65 years old in America 🇺🇸, they have one thing to look forward or not realizing that our destination is the nursing home. Those who passed before entering the nursing home are the lucky one. Seeing Paul busting with laugh is real and you can’t fake that. Laughter make life feel better and gives you long life 👍🙏❤️

Congratulations on another great video. I have watched many of your videos. Thank you for making them. This one was a turning point for me. I have been considering moving to the Philippines for a couple of years, partially because of you. Today's video convinced me that I don't need to do that. Listening to you three guys over a cup of coffee let me see that I don't need to move there to enjoy the Philippines and the camaraderie. I lived there for three years, so I remember the dogs, roosters, jeepneys, potholes, typhoons, begging children, and beautiful women and scenery. I now live in the San Diego area, the weather is about 72 degrees year round, traffic is not a bother, everyone speaks English, I have an efficiency apartment that costs me only $800 per month, I am within walking distance of everything I usually buy such as food, gas, clothing, etc. I can drive to Las Vegas in 5 hours, or the Grand Canyon in 6. There's even a good Filipino restaurant in Encinitas. I had lumpia there yesterday. Bottom line: I love the Philippines, and I love your videos and the Philippine people. Please keep up the good work. It's almost like being there. I am reminded of all the beauty and good the Philippines has to offer, without enduring the annoyances.

Wow!, thanks Steve! I am feeling like I need to check out San Diego. I have spent time in the Phils as well and relive the experience through videos like this, but I'm not sure about whether I want to return there or find an alternative.

I agree with your guess, you have to pull the trigger and make a decision. I retired at age 64. I live in New York City and own a condo in the Philippines. I visited the Philippines 4 times for three at a time for vacations from 2008-2019. I finally decided to retire in the Philippines and arrived in November 2022. It didn’t work out for me. But I’m glad I got out of my comfort zone and tried it. I got sick twice in the Philippines and I could not find food that was healthy for me. So I moved back to NYC. With no regrets. Guys you have to check out a few places in the Philippines for a few months in whatever town you choose. Don’t sell all your belongings until you are in the Philippines for 6 months to a year. Then decide when you have a good idea if you can cope with the life and culture of the Philippines. All the best to you all.

Absolutely do a 6 month plus trial run living as a retiree not as a tourist after you have had several vacations here first. It may be costly doing this, but your happiness health and retirement savings comes first.

I'm not aware of the guest's level of blindness (legally blind can be different from totally blind) but I'd be very concerned about moving about on my own in the Philippines. I've seen way too many broken or altogether missing sewage trench covers. That along with huge differences in curb heights and poor drivers seem to be a recipe for disaster. I wish these guys well in any case.

My wife explained to me that many words don't translate easy from Ilongo to English. And Filipinos will 'think' in their native tongue then try to figure out what English words can best express what they're trying to say (& thinking) & sometimes it's not real easy for them. My hat is off to all of them as I'm not bilingual but an American.

Interesting. I think having realistic expectations sets one up for success. I think unrealistic expectations set people up to fail. For me the first time I went directly to deep province. It was an awesome choice for me. I didn’t want Cebu, Manila or the city. I can find that in America. I spent three months in deep province and it was the best! I was extremely happy and blissful. I did feel like a celebrity. I was greeted daily by Filipinas and others that were curious and very friendly. They were sweet, playful, and open. Since I have been to all the favorites men talk about including Duma, Cebu, Manila. I still prefer the deep province by far. I am slow traveling for a while through SE Asia. I know I will end up in true province life. Its transformative down to the cellular level

I'm a Filipino and in regards to the English, all of us here were taught English when we were in School until our college life, we have English subjects. However, we are not a native English speaker, and most of the older generations would not speak to us in English when we were young, so of course our language is somehow broken. but the call center industry have boomed in the Philippines for more than a decade now, there are a lot of Pinoys like me who practice it on a daily basis and our English have improved drastically. Because of that, our kids right now are speaking english better as well. as we spoke to them in english
