I agree. I admit I use a drop away, but my wife uses a whisker. I’ve come to the conclusion that I have NO advantage. And her rest is probably more foolproof. It’s hard to face the fact that a test that costs three times as much isn’t really better.

I totally agree with everything you're saying. But I have one thing to say. I shoot a Mathews halon 7 with all Mathews equipment like their rest. The rest is made by QAD and its specifically made for Mathews bows and it's a drop away combined with your rest. When I got the bow I put an arrow on it and twisted the bow all around and the arrow stayed on the rest and when I put it back vertical the arrow goes right back into the pocket it sits in on the rest. And me personally I love it and it's the best of both worlds. But that's just my opinion and I love to see other people who are patient about their equipment. Keep hammerin
@PaulKorn10317 жыл бұрын
Cody, Thanks for the comment you are correct Mathews / QAD really good stuff! Lots of good rests on the Market one thing I cant remember if I mentioned in video I like that the Whisker Biscuit doesn't have a string attached to the control cable on a single Cam bows or the Cable on a 2 cam bow. Depending on how tight the string that pulls up the rest is at full draw your timing will change so this is also a more critical part of Drop Away's, as I always feel strongly, the Biscuit is simple. Anyways great comment and yes lots of good rests in the Market you are doing the right thing with your set up because you are confident and believe in it! Happy Hunting! Paul Korn

I shoot a Mathews Z2 and it came with a QAD as well. It locked up on me recently and my shots were flying off sporadically every once in a while without me knowing why. In the field, that could've been a gut shot deer or worse, I might've hit one bad and he/she could've made off and lived with one of my arrows in it. I learned with a whisker biscuit and took my first deer with one (a 7 point buck at 30 yards) with my Diamond bow and didn't know all the benefits of the WB until I began looking into a rest replacement. I'll gladly give up the 1fps of speed all day every day for all the benefits that the WB offers. Simple, zero moving parts, way less things that can go wrong, a deadly silent alternative, full time containment, no worry of your shaft bouncing around, super quiet for a follow up shot if necessary and it doesn't rely on anything else for it to continue to perform it's job like the tune of the string. As for accuracy, time and time again it's been proven to be negligible for the type of hunting I do (Northeastern woodlands). There's less than an inch of difference with a consistent archer under 40 yards. Nothing is going to get away because of

Hi Paul.. I already try this biscuit on my recurve.. It's pretty good IMO.. I'm a noob target archer, way different from you as a hunter. But this biscuit made me easier setting up my center shot for 20 yards outdoor target archery. And hell yeah.. I can focus more than usual on my aiming rather than worrying my arrow being dropped from magnetic rest.. Btw, i shoot everyday except raining..

Most drop away rests have a bar overtop so it is fully contained that’s why I believe they are better now that drop away rests are more advanced but I shot a whisker biscuit since I was 10 years old and never had a issue both amazing rests but in today’s age I would choose a whisker biscuit, very educating video well done!

i used to shot drop away rest til one day my drop away didn't work and it didn't fall, my arrows missed my target(10 pointer buck) after that i went to the whisker biscuit and never have to worried about malfunction... the whisker biscuit doesn't affect with your form, the only thing that it affect is it reduce the speed a little, but not much as people claim...i been shooting whisker biscuit for over 18 yrs now and will never go back to anything else... paul, here's a simple tip to reduce friction and noise is apply some oil to it and i hunt in wisconsin too.

Good stuff!! Iam a new bow hunter, and sometimes my arrow pops off on a quick draw. I dont want to worry about that as I try filling my first archery tag. I also get tired of wrapping my index finger around the arrow when I gear down to still-hunting mode. So thanks for reassuring me its ok to exchange my current two prong drop away, with a bisket. Thanks for the video... Peace from Nor Minnesota! DB.

If I had a choice to bug out with I'd go with a whisker. I'm not going to do any very cold hunting so I'll probably go with a drop away. One other thing I'd go with a drop away for target archery. But still the whisker it is a great rest,and always will be.

Question for Paul... I just picked up a WB. I currently shoot 3" feather fletching with the odd-feather OUT (not up or down). Should I change it to shoot odd-feather UP or with feathers it shouldn't matter? Thanks
@PaulKorn10312 жыл бұрын
The odd or cock feather should always go up in the Wisker Biscuit. The lower [black] bristles the arrow sits on are a harder material that is more durable as far as wearing out. The other bristles are a softer material and it's important that your 3 fletchings all hit the brown or soft bristles as it leaves your bow. If one of the fletchings hits the black [harder] area it will not shoot as well and your arrow group size will get larger or bigger as not designed to be shot like that. Make sure the Odd or Cock Feather is up for a very accurate rest that works great! Best of luck on your shooting and hunting! Paul Korn

I've taught and set up bows for lots of people. The whisker rocks. Some still use them. My son has been shooting for 15 years and still uses it. I shoot 4 feather arrows, a lot of flu flu, and FOBS, so I can't use it. I recommend people keep a Biscuit and compatible arrows when they go on long trips, for backup. I keep one and a couple quick fletch in my case at all times. Just in case Murphy assaults my QAD

Always seems like people forget a rest that supports the side of the arrow allows you the option to shoot with your fingers consistently. Anyone who has tried to get a consistent finger release using a drop away or similar non side supporting rest will know what I am talking about. My only problem with the biscuit is that it does scrub a litte energy and velocity off your arrow, but if you have energy and velocity to spare and you shoot good with it more power to ya. Me personally I want the most energy and penetration potential I can achieve.
