I have this tent! Love it . Yes the white is different however with muddy boots this doesn’t stain and easily wipes away.The materials are interesting I have the grey inner and brownish coloured floor which is a lot easier on the eye than pure white . The materials are recycled and hence the colour but 1.3 kilo on long day hikes makes the difference ! On a budget. Im local to Dartmoor and for around £160.00 this has proven a great assest to me and two vestibules too, ! The cons would be condensation! Take a cloth with you! And it gets a lot of it inside! But the inner keeps you dry if this does happen. Dont let the colour put you off ! The functionality weighs out this!

I have this tent and i have 2,5 down side about her. First, the white, it's hard for me to sleep when the moon is full and I guess it will be hard in the summer with the sun rising early. Second, it's really really wide and take a lot of surface on the ground which can be a downside if you can't find a large place to sleep. And the last 0,5 is that I struggle to really tentions the tent thus inducing a lot of noise during windy night. But that mostly my fault and I need to work on that. For the pro of this tent, it's really easy to pack in the bag, it's really light and i find the price really decent for the quality of the built and the weight.

@Sopita de sobre Hi I use the Big Agnes Rapide SL and there's room at bottom of the mat... if you pull the foot box up with another pole. Mt decathlon child's trecking pole is about 150gram. I'm sure @NoviceWildCamper is a similar size to you and he has reviewed it

@@AccountablePharm Thank you very much for the quick response! Which version is your Rapide SL? I think I saw it comes in various sizes, right? Didn't know Novice Wild Camper was around 6'4", that's very helpful! will definetly check his chanel more often because of that. So it's convenient to use 3 different poles to get the maximum ammount of size from the tent? I don't know if I would be up to bring a third pole just to extend the front part a bit... hahaha
@thegeniouserwin
@thegeniouserwin Жыл бұрын
@@nymuelovan Not sure if you bought it already, but let me share my experience. I'm 6'3" and used the version with the orange inner of this tent in Norway last summer. Length and width wise, it's awesome. I used a thermarest topo XL, and had about 10 cm / 4" to spare lengthwise. If the foot-end was guyed out, everything was perfectly roomy, especially if you can find a stick to lift the foot-end. But if there were no sticks around, to guy out the foot-end, my feet would touch the inner. And during rainy nights, without going outside to tension everything up again, the outer would sag onto the inner causing a damp foot-end of the sleeping bag. So... I'd say it's almost perfect. If there's no sticks around where you plan to camp, @Kyle W's idea for carrying an extra pole could be worth trying out. Or using a thinner pad.
@nymuelovan
@nymuelovan Жыл бұрын
@@thegeniouserwin I really appreciate the info, man. I wasn't expecting getting any sort of info in this regard anytime soon. Even less with this ammount of detail. From what you say it definetly looks like an option to me. The foot-end bit seems a bit scary though, would hate to get my down sleeping bag wet without noticing during the night. Good part is that, if it seems too tricky to solve, I can always return it, thanks to Decathlon customer service. For me the most important part was knowing if I could fit my Exped LW pad. Thanks homie! Also, any feedback about the wind resistance and such?

Nice video, nice looking tent. Although, I am not so convinced by the not dyed claim. To get to such a bright white, chemicals where likely used (caveat, I am not a scientist). I think when a claim like 'not dyed' is made with such a stark white colour, and then no explanation about how it gets is bright white effect, it makes me question the integrity of the claim. I trust dyes where not used, but in place of what other process, and to what levels beyond any normal process?

I saw these online last year and then they were gone. I don't mind the colour as it is part of their attempt to be more eco by using less dye. I wouldn't care if it got grubby either. As expected from Decathlon, it looks like a decent bit of kit at a good price point. The thing I find interesting is the reaction to the colour. Obviously they are aware that the bulk of their customers (French company, so European-centric) will be happy to buy a bright white tent, which reminds me how backward we are in this country to camping anywhere other than the few designated campsites. If being descreet was desirable across their customer base, it wouldn't be white. But I'm rambling...

Comparison to a Lanshan 2 springs to mind. I like the idea of the short poles to create more head room. But then it’s shorter than a Lanshan and also losing a good 10cm headroom. - Why does nobody consider hikers/campers taller than 180cm, the average height of a European male, meaning about half of that population is taller? And then there are the extra 300g on the Lanshan 2.

I agree it would be better and have done that with my scarp. Only issue is I only have 2 arms so don't carry 3 poles. I could look for branches but not up a mountain

@@PaulMessner In the tent's defence, that guy line does connect to a seam rather than the middle of a large panel of fabric, which will help spread any stress load. No idea if that makes much difference mind...

@@dx-xb The only thing I can say is that I'd have more faith in a tie-out point along a seam rather than in the middle of a large panel - there is more material to add strength. I have zero expertise on the matter, and I'm not in a possition to judge the merits of an idividual tent. So, please don't take my comment as any way criticising or endorsing any product as used per instructions. Sorry, and I hope you enjoy your adventures whatever! 😃

@@darrendazzertodd It did happen, I watched it, but it doesn't appear on the relevant feed for whatever reason. My uneducated view is that as long as you're not putting unrealistic expectations on the gear, it will do what it says. I think the best lesson from that is that sometimes, with the best will in the world, shit can happen. Be aware, be prepared. And, most importantly, enjoy.

I love this tent and I Love the colour, the weight and the price! I would possibly like to see one or two more guy lines but it does look like there's enough room between the inner and the fly and i would like to see a more solid inner, to make it more 4 season. 2000 hh is ok but would like to see 3000 if I'm honest but that's been picky. When is the 2 person available, do you know? Thanks for the overview. EDIT - It's available now. On order :-)

Looks like great value - but even though they claim it will survive 40 mph, I suspect that those big unsupported panels will be flapping like a thunderclap...

Hi Paul, good review and looks like a quality product. Even if it's all white! You mentioned Forclaz do a 1 person version of this tent. Having trouble finding it online...do you have a link to it by any chance?
