All systems are greater than the sum of their parts. This creates a unified fielld. This field is the perception og God.

There were 12 Titans and 12 Olympians in Greek Myth. There were 12 Aesir in Norse Myth. There were 12 Adityas in Hinduism. There were 12 Tribes in Judaism. There were 12 Disciples in Christianity. The number 12 seems to show up at the beginning of myths. So it's unlikely that there actually were 12 disciples, 12 is just a catchy number.

The number of disciples obviously comes from the number of tribes, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the number of aesir came from Christian influence, so the number 12 is probably a bit less common than it seems. Though it likely does have some common ancestor consider the fact that the number 12 shows up in a very wide variety of places, I suspect it’s because 12 months per year is the easiest way of dividing a year while considering both the solar and lunar positions

@@BobbyHill26 Yeah you’re right, Christianity got it from Judaism, then Snorri gave it to the Norse. So there’s a direct line there. But it’s more widespread and goes back earlier. Rather than the calendar it’s probably the zodiac. There’s a link between Greece and India with Zeus and Indra, so MAYBE the 12 carried over that way.

@@darren.mcauliffe I could be wrong, it’s not something I’ve studied and maybe not something we have strong answers for, but I imagine that the zodiac came from the calendar, not the other way around. 12 months works good for a calendar and they have each month a constellation

Thanks for this. Always enjoy your content. Always enjoy Paul. I'm intrigued by your references to Michael Jones. He appears not to be an honest interlocutor. I reference his discussions with Dan Mcl , PlanetPeterson, Dr's Josh and Kill and Phil talk. He seems to me to be an apologist who will take the most marginal position in support of his presuppositions and consistency misrepresents his discussion partners. He also, as far as I know does not have any real qualifications in early church history.

I don't hold to many of the positions of Michael, but I think he is almost as honest as you can be as an apologist. I honestly believe that Apologetics of any form is not an exercise in (capital T) Truth, but convincing people of an already decided on position.

The people I mentioned above all expressed their frustration at his lack of honest engagement. But thanks for your content. I really enjoy watching. The Mormon apologetic video was genius!

An all powerful, all wise, all knowing god does not need to torture himself or his son to save humanity from what he plans on doing to them. The story of sin and redemption under the guidance of a god that cannot make a mistake is nonsense

Why would the creator need plans? He's the system administrator of this world! He could hit a button and pause the whole system right now or could've at ANY POINT. I bet any decent moderator of a popular MMORPG would've done a much better job than the supposed God we've had so far.
