You will never hear Peterson follow through with a convincing conclusion about the existance of God. Like too many "intellectuals" he's not actually very intelligent. But I'll grant that he's pretty good at masking his meaningless world view with clever sounding doubletalk.

This is in fact true. Dr. Michael Heiser says this is true as well… the Bible doesn’t deny the existence of these other gods. We as Christians believe there is only one ultimate superior God that is Lord of lords and King of kings.

Criminally underrated podcast, and this is a particularly criminally underviewed episode. I enjoyed this episode a lot, Secular Rarity is effortlessly enjoyable to listen to. Thanks for sharing your conversation.

I find it so strange how Christianity is so openly mocked, hated, shamed at such a vitriol level when one of the reasons why Jesus Christ's message was so revolutionary was because He said all of humanity is made in the image of God, that everyone has inherit worth, dignity, and deserves universal love, no matter your race, gender, social status. He openly had theistic conversations with women, socialized with societal outcasts, advocated for the poor and needy. In the context of the culture at the time, this was so radical, crazy, and was perceived as an incredible counter culture movement. Its no wonder that many early Christians were women and slaves. Ok so why didn't Jesus just say slavery is bad, end it? Well what is more effective, spreading a message that completely undermined the institution of slavery since everyone is equal and made in the image of God? That planted the seeds that would eventually lead to every anti slavery movement in the world led by radical Christians? Or saying stop slavery when nearly everyone thought Jesus was some crazy guy with a few weird followers that said we are all equal? Why is there so much hate over the message of Christianity but complete silence and worse, defense of Islam? When if you read the Quran and Hadiths, you would understand why child marriage and child rape is so prevalent in the Muslim world, you would understand why women, Jews, and Christians are third class citizens in the Muslim world, you would understand why there is virtually no scientific or societal advancement in the Muslim world, why slavery is still practiced, why female mutilation is practiced, why women are literally viewed as less intelligent with no agency without a man. Read the Quran and Hadiths, specifically Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. Know what taqiyyah and jizya is. But all of this doesn't matter because those who hate Christianity have an underlying hate for anything Western, anything Christian, anything White. It's this Far Left Marxist, godless, hopeless, depressed, angry ideology that is a cancer to the West.

The best question asked that debate was, if all the people died or disappeared would there still be a God? And Peterson was completely stumped.

That goes at the heart of how he views the world and the universe. Always through himself. I mean if you think about it, Christians really believe the whole universe was created just for them. The consciousness of Elephants and whales, gorillas and cats doesn't matter. Its all just for them. It is incredibly self centered.

You would think a dude that studied the Hebrew Bible would have an ounce of knowledge about the ancient world.. We put people in jail for owing debts, we literally do what they did then.. these leftards have no problem with our modern equivalent of justice.. they have no problem with putting people in cages for owing money.. they have no problem with Palestine wiping out the nation of Israel, but can’t fathom the Israelites had reasons in their society for similar practices. I feel bad for atheists. No critical thinking skills.. Even the “educated” are uneducated on the topics they claim to be educated in. Ridiculously pathetic. Btw a year ago I saw an episode of the line where dr josh didn’t know the Hebrew word for “brother”.. probably not the best guy to cling to as an expert in Hebrew or the Old Testament. Just saying..

Crime and Punishment bored me to tears. A blatantly unsubtle morality tale wrapped up in Eastern Orthodox sentimentality. Same with the Brothers Kamazarov. These right wing conservatives always flee either to CS Lewis or to Dostoevsky when they need to justify their prejudices, because they find in them their prejudices praised and worshipped like vindicated black idols on the pedestal of elevated literature. And no one dares to contradict them for fear of looking like a fool.

Peterson's argument with Crime and Punishment is so flawed. One example is that he forgets Raskolnikov killed the innocent sister as she showed up on the crime scene.

11:53 Matt, whose god you don’t believe in? You shit on Christianity and Islam, very diplomatically leaving out the root of the evil i.e. Jesus’ daddy in the Old Testament. What? Truth stops not to piss off religious Jews or something? You have much more in common with Peterson than you would like to admit such as intellectual arrogance and lying cowardice. I saw what truth means for religious people and atheists alike.

If Jordan Peterson’s wife had not experienced cancer remission, I suspect he might still be an atheist or agnostic. His beliefs and interpretations often seem to maneuver through intuition. That’s why he frequently ends up making word salad arguments when debating strong atheists like Sam, Matt, or Richard. It’s like a spaghetti twist with sweet and sour sauce-but no cheese.

I've been watching Jordan Peterson for a long time. I think Jordan came on the stage in this debate already with a predisposition to not respect Matt. I think a large part of the lack of respect comes from Matt not having a formal university education. Jordan felt like he was above Matt intellectually, and when things didn't go Jordan's way he melted down. Jordan acted in a similar way in his debate with Destiny, someone who also doesn't have a formal university education. It's a very shallow way of thinking, and its become a pattern with Jordan. He will come out with a predisposition based on the credentials of the other person. Jordan truly believes he is the great man.

I get so tired of the demonization of Pentecostals. Why can’t we just believe God still does supernatural things these days?? oh that’s right because we live in a rationalistic scientific secular humanist society. Every time God does a healing or does something supernatural We want to discount it as demonic or something or call it frauds. Though yes there are a lot of frauds and false teachers in Pentecostalism unfortunately because it’s easy for them to hide there. But God also still does these things today and I am proof. I live a life of healing and miracles, signs and wonders and a deep personal relationship to Christ and that’s how everyone should be. If people could experience God, in this way, our whole nation would be Christian. Our whole world would be Christian. But since people don’t see the real thing they run to witchcraft and all this other false religions. So it’s very sad honestly.
