The Oysterquartz hasn't be sold since 2001 (most of them are much older). The movements were actually made in the 1970s and are almost certain to fail withing the next decade. Rolex won't repair them and no spare parts are available. A rather expensive paper weight.

Oysterquartz is fantastic but too many were produced to be truly collectable like the beta21 Rolex 5100. Precious metal investing is only done through 24k jewelry and watches are not the way to invest in precious metals.
