Something I still miss is the Fuji film simulations for DNG files. In Lightroom you can still use the Fujifilm simulations on converted DNGs (for example denoised RAF files in DXO Photolab), but that's not possible in capture one.

Hello Paul and everyone who reads my comment ! Super video,.like everytime with Paul! Paul i have a super question, about two pictures in this video, and generally about your way of editing! I agree completely that the trend of the picures we see a lot of times, in landscapes, or wildlife, is today to overrecover the shadows . So obviously, we have the impression that the light comes from everywhere, and Paul you are right, by saying it becomes a flat picture ! But sometimes , for example with the monkeys and the foxes ; and specially in the last picture, the fotograf worked on his editing in that sens , was it not possible to have just a tiny bit more light on the eyes of the foxes ?? not so much that we get impression they have a light in their eyes 😂, but jut a bit more than in your editing. ??? in that picture the expression of their eyes was very important. The fotografs who edited his picture worked in that sens. ! the eyes expression is a bit in the darkness in your editing, Paul ! Or has the eyes expression to be really in the darkness??🤔🤔🤔🤔?? because against the light ??? our eye is everytime better against the light than any camera ! so if we start from the idea: we edit as we have seen the animals ..... perhaps anyway a bit more light in the eyes ???😊😊😊 Wonderfull shoots by the way. Thank you for your answer Paul !! . I know , i must try to be in the live session 🙏🙏🙏( yesterday my girlfriend broked her wrist , and i came too late from the hospital 😰😰!

Sorry to hear about your girlfriend! 🙁 So - on the eyes - with more time, sure - and a lot of the layers were on specific details that could be brought out. In the session, with limited time, to redo every tweak would have taken too long - but for sure, it may have been a finishing touch. Generally speaking, enhancing/highlighting small details can be really powerful - just don't overdo them, as if they're tooooo different to the general feel of the image then it's obvious that it's been edited. That, and make sure you're not combining heavy local edits on top of heavy global edits - as that can push things too far :-)

I definitely hear you regarding the rubbish people leave in places like Durdle Door (but also in less iconic places anywhere). What I've learnt in the past years is that removing trash (as much as you can) indeed is a much healthier way to deal with this appalling behavior than only complaining about it. And it's my impression that it works, not in the least because more and more people get fed up and start picking up trash. The cleaner a place, the less likely it gets littered (again).
