Thanks Paul, the best presentation I’ve seen on the halo issue and fixes. As always best not to over-do editing to keep a natural look.

Thanks for the advice on my photo yesterday which was very helpful. I must also say that all of your videos, and those of David Grover, have been extremely useful in my first month since switching to Capture One. In fact, I would go as far as saying that I probably wouldn't have made the purchase without your guidance. Initially C1 is a little intimidating, appears to have a steep learning curve, and compared with other software, seems to have features missing (can't quite put my a finger on that one!). Thanks to you and David, all of that has gone away, and while I still have much to learn (as illustrated yesterday!), I am already comfortable in navigating my way aroung the UI. Cheers, Roger

Dear Paul and everyone who reads my comment! So glad to see and hear you again!! It was a so long time! 1. The last version of C 1.has so much improved the speed of Ai masks ❤👍. Really a game changer. I admit that I didn't use them before, because the speed was too slow and I had really before to wait a certain time until the AI was ready. 2.. Thank you Paul for the great demonstration to make the dark and bright lights desappear in the sharpness lines of the mountains 👍👍👍 I still have problems with that! 3.I am here Paul like an other person who asks also for the red warning highlights.. I confess when I work on my picture and it shows me a red light warning space, I always use the wheel of the red balance color tool to make the highlight desappear!!? Is it wrong??? I never really know, when to consider it or not??? On the last picture you seemed to say, here it was not so important! 🤔🤔🤔????? Thank yo again for your always so wonderful instructive videos Paul!!!! ❤❤❤

Anyone use the Mastin presets? I’m curious if they work well?

How would you put in a linear gradient to just the sky and leave the building alone?
@AdamJRichardson6 ай бұрын
In this case you could draw the linear gradient and then apply a luma mask to it since presumably you'll be darkening the bright part of the sky, so the luma mask can tell it to ignore the darker parts like the building. For the moment you can't boolean masks together so far as I'm aware, eg linear gradient and then subtract an ai mask of the building

Enjoy these sessions immensely, lots of small interesting tit bits all the way through. And, and excellent overview of Amount, Radius and Threshold in the Sharpening tab. As a perpetual license holder I sure hope that C-1 Pro doesn't follow the route of, Express and the camera manufacture versions as Capture One prioritizes the Studio version. You said in the session that Capture One Pro only had minor upgrades (yet it's a paid point version) compared with the Studio one. Maybe we could have Capture One Landscape and Capture One Studio and each would have the features relative to each genre and therefore keeping the price down for the perpetual license holders that don't need any of the features a working pro in the studio would need. One can dream. 😏

At 1hour 3 minute mark you seem to say that exposure warning is just a warning not an absolute fact. Even at 255?
@Paulreiffer6 ай бұрын
The issue with the exposure warning is that it's telling you that ONE, or more, channels is fully saturated. So, a solid bright blue sky may have a B reading of 255, while R and G levels are way under. Is it *technically* overexposed? in the blue channel, yes. Is it *actually* a problem? Nope, not really.
