Presentation of all Dinky models from 1967. Diecast car Dinky model car

I present all models that appeared in commerce in 1967 in the offer of the Dinky company. The presentation is very extensive. the manufacturer showed each car on a separate page, which resulted in a catalog of 120 pages. At the beginning new products were shown. The pocket form was very popular among children in those years.

Paul, I never had much experience with Dinky toy diecast vehicles back in my collecting days. After watching this video on the 1967 Dinky Toy catalogue, i saw at least a dozen vehicles that I'd really like to have. Dinky seems to have taken their craftsmanship and detail up a couple of notches over their competitors - these look really nice! Thanks for showing this catalogue!

In 1967 I had the Opel Admiral and the Volkswagen 1600....I treasured it and then suddenly I lost them, I can not remember what I did with them...so sad...

Excellent video. So many European vehicles that were not available in my country. Many years ago, I had a good friend in Switzerland who used to send to me some of those exotic French Dinky cars. Some fifty years later, I still have most of them, boxes too!

No widać że, to jest niebyle jaka kolekcja to są unikatowe teraz w takich czasach bardzo rzadkie resoraki bardzo mi się podoba :Porsche Carerra 6,auto z marką na literę M, Mercedes-Benz w wersji limuzyn, wyścigowe niektóre ciężarowe a nawet ruchome elementy jak wysuwany bagażnik, dzwi Maska i tak dalej ja kiedyś miałem taki bardzo stary katalog ślę nie wiem z jakiej firmy on jest ale są w nim zawierane wspaniałe zestawy z torami wyścigowymi, policją starą pożarną i tak dalej

Morning there! Thats great to see a the french models - Some beauties that we never saw the light of day ! -Avery European Collection We got DS of course & 2 CV Those racing car models I can remember my Mom saving wrappers either from - Ringtons Tea wafers ! - Remember the Ringtons tea man that would come around every fortnight selling his wares ? - or Caramel wafers from local Co-op store It's a bit blurry now (Getting Old haha) but Ended up with a pack of three Dinky racing cars like those one could have bean the 'Cooper Climax' - I did own a voiturede police Americaine in black -Although It was not called that ! In 1967 -I would have been 6 and we lived in Bradford Yorkshire bang in the centre of the UK Great seeing all those cars -I am trying to think what the police car was called ! Let me sed if I can get my brain together and let you know ( you probably know already?) All the very best S.B.- British Isles

English Dinky Catalogues (that I have seen) shows passengers in the Rolls Phantom V number 152 (first version with diamond headlights, wing mirrors, 'spun' wheels, passengers and driver) in the 1966 catalogue ONLY. English Dinky Catalogues for 67, 68, 69, 70, 71 and 72 show NO rear passengers. 1973 changed to version 2 and did not come with passengers or wing mirrors and catalogues for 73, 74, 75 and 76 show cast wheels. 1977 saw a version 3, which was a 'cost cutter' as the bonnet and rear passenger doors did not open anymore and it lost the diamonds. It was renumbered 124 but the base plate still says 152. The version 2 Phantom V self build Metal Kit was number 1001 and, again, has 152 on its base plate. Dinky couldn't be bothered to re-tool the molds.

Best "catalogue video" you've done so far Paul' this one is fascinating.👍👌 Very interesting to see how many different vehicles were produced in France, most of them not available in the UK. Quite a few of these are new to me and there are several I've never heard of, either real or model. The single-wheel trailer is an unusual one, I'd love to get my hands on one of those. The Ford Galaxie at 0:35 had *four* opening doors, don't think I've ever seen *that* before either. I wouldn't say these French vehicles were any better, or worse, than British Corgis but there seem to be more interesting models, maybe just different. The artwork is lovely but some of it looks a bit "off" - for example at 5:24 the front of that Rolls looks a bit odd. Great to see so many ordinary, everyday cars/vans etc, rather than concentrating on sports/concept/supercars; kids in France would see these vehicles in the street every day. Also, I like the new style of video, without you turning each page, looks much smoother. 👌 Thanks for sharing this one Paul, great fun.👍 Cheers for now, Dougie.

C'est dingue, j'ignorais qu'il y avait autant de détails sur ces voitures à cette époque ! C'est à quelle échelle ? Si je prends la Peugeot 204 cabriolet à 0:52, je trouve 87x3740/100=1/42 Donc a peut près 1/48 ? Même à cette échelle , on n'a plus autant de détail aujourd'hui : bagages en accessoires, banquettes coulissantes, feux scintillants (?), toit rangeable dans le coffre...

C'est curieux qu'il y ait autant de modeles de vehicules francais pour un fabriquant anglais... est ce que Dinkoy Toys en 1967 adaptait ses modeles pour chaque pays d'exportation ou peut etre le site de production etait il en France pour ce catalogue , l'Allemagne , l'Italie fabriquant eux aussi leurs propres Dinky Toys ? Si quelqu'un est plus calé sur ce sujet merci de me faire profiter de votre savoir.

La filiale française de Dinky Toys a produit de nombreux modèles exclusifs, dès les années 1930. Elle avait son bureau d'études et son usine en région parisienne. Le catalogue français proposait aussi certains modèles de Dinky Toys UK mais il n'était pas toujours facile de les trouver dans les magasins français. Les modèles français n'étaient pratiquement pas vendus au Royaume-Uni. Un petit peu au Benelux et un tout petit peu en Allemagne et en Suisse. Il y avait une petite usine en Afrique du Sud qui a produit et vendu sur place des Dinky Toys français, avec couleurs spécifiques à ce pays. Ces modèles sud-africains sont très recherchés par les collectionneurs.

Je trouve etonnant que Dinky ait intallé une filliale autonome en France dès 1930 , c'est la preuve d'un tres bon sens des affaires de leur part ainsi que d'une bonne connaissance du marché Francais d'alors. ( ils etaient deja prets pour la mondialisation 80 ans avant tout le monde !) surtout qu'à l'époque , je suppose qu'une replique de voiture , moulée en plomb ou en fer , peinte, vernie et avec une bonne ressemblance avec le vrai modele devait etre un jouet reservé aux enfants de familles aisées ... mon pére qui a été enfant durant les années 30 se rappelle tes bien de ses boites de Meccano, mais pas de Dinky Toys ...

@@KLOSTER777 Dinky Toys est un bébé de Meccano et des trains électriques Hornby. Ces deux marques de jouets créées en Angleterre par Frank Hornby ont très vite eu un succès important sur le marché français. Hornby a donc ouvert un bureau d'importation en France dès le début des années 1920. Les premiers Dinky Toys ont été des accessoires pour les trains électriques : personnages et accessoires de gare à l'échelle O (1/43ème). Puis des petites voitures à la même échelle. Le succès de ces petites voitures à été foudroyant et Dinky Toys est devenu aussi gros que son grand frère les trains Hornby, en Angleterre et en France. Frank Hornby a donc décidé de transformer son bureau d'importation en usine, à Paris d'abord puis, face au succès à Bobigny au début des années 1930, où l'usine est devenue très importante et a produit des petites voitures, des camions et des avions miniatures spécifiques pour les petits Français. Pendant l'occupation allemande en 1940-44, Dinky Toys s'est arrêté en France mais les Allemands ont obligé Hornby France à produire des trains électriques pour la marque allemande Maerklin. La production de Dinky en France à redémarré après la guerre en 1948, avec un succès phénoménal dont ce catalogue constitue l'apogée de la fin des années 1960.

Je suppose que ce sont les circonstances économiques et politiques peut être qui ont du les empêcher de continuer , après la France de s'implanter en Allemagne dans les années 30 mais ça pourrait être aussi parce que le marché allemand était déjà occupé par un fabriquant germanique ? ( peut être Schuko ?) Car ils étaient drôlement dynamiques chez Hornby/Dinky pour l'époque, ils ont en qq sorte appliqué les techniques de l'industrie automobile pour exporter et délocaliser leur production de petites voitures ...
