Majorette restoration of Volkswagen Golf MK 1 No. 210. Toy model cast.

The Majorette company produced the model of the cult Volkswagen Golf MK1 in the years 1978 - 1985. In the first two years of production, the model was painted red. Then colors such as black, light blue, silver metallic were created. To turn the subtitles in your language on or off in the movie, please press C on the computer or the three dots on the mobile phone in the movie. All types of Volkswagen Golf, apart from the light blue one, had an inscription on the side doors of the Golf. It was applied using the pad printing method. I made this inscription on a transparent decal in white. My model was from 1978 and was painted red of course. I removed the old paint and applied a new car acrylic lacquer. I protected it with a colorless varnish with a hardener. I also refurbished the wheels and cleaned the entire interior of the vehicle. I made a cardboard box, quite rare for this model of the 200 series. Most of these copies were packed in a blister box closed with an ultrasound method. Hab als Kind (so um 1980) in der damaligen VW Werkstatt in Bendorf/Rhein den Golf 1 (Orange) meines Vaters , als Spielzeugmodell geschenkt gekriegt. Selten haben Modell und original wohl so zusammen gepasst sagen wir mal so beide haben an Farbe verloren das klingt freundlich. Der kleine Spielzeuggolf steht heute im Kellerschrank und wird wohl niemals entsorgt !

I actually have a few of them in mint condition - some are boxed and unopened, others are displayed on a shelf. It is for sure on my favorite majorette cars. I love the detailed front end with the VW emblem and the inserted glass lenses headlights as well as the rear with the number plate and the stamped GOLF on the hatch. Those Majorette are from the 70s-80s are for sure the best Majorette. Newer ones made in Thailand or wherever they are made now doesn’t live up the quality of yesterday’s Majorette cars.

nice, a little Golf. :) great work on it, too. ^^ looks like someone put a sheet of scotchtape on the windscreen. I did that, too, as a kid, when a model had a scratched windscreen and I didn't want to take it apart. the tape's glue equalizes the finer scratches in the plastic. unfortunately, it gets destroyed by UV light, making matters worse eventually. never seen the cardboard box here in germany. they only had the plastic boxes of ancient times, or later the blisters you needed good scissors for...

Da werden Erinnerungen wach! Im Autokoffer von meinem Bruder und mir ist der Majorette-Golf in schwarz, in rot und in hellblau in TOP Zustand. Der hellblaue zieht einen Bootstrailer und der rote einen Segelflugzeugtrailer. Bei Majorette fanden wir als Kinder die Federung der Achsen toll. Das zog! :-)

@@He-Man_Master_of_the_Universe Wir waren zwei Kinder und Spielzeug kam bei uns wirklich nicht zu kurz. Manchmal bekam mein Bruder oder ich von Mama nach der Blutabnahme in der Stadt ein Siku oder Matchbox-Auto oder einen kleinen Legoland-Bausatz gekauft. Oder Oma erlaubte uns, beim Einkaufen ein Auto mitnehmen zu dürfen. Eines hat mein jüngerer Bruder aber nie bekommen: Eine eigene Modelleisenbahn, weil ein "Fachidiot" in der Familie genug war :-))) Dafür versuchten ihn unsere Eltern mit Metallbaukästen, Experimentierkästen und einer Dampfmaschine von der Eisenbahn abzubringen. Und mit meiner durfte der Arme lange noch nicht spielen. Funkferngesteuerte Autos hatten wir beide mal. Was wir uns zu Weihnachten und zu den Geburtstagen wünschten, bekamen wir eigentlich auch immer, wenn es nicht zu teuer war. Und das wussten wir auch.
