Norev restoration of Renault Alpina A 220 Le Mans No. 808. Production of road and rally lights.

The Renault Alpine A 220 is a cult car model that took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race twice between 1968 and 1969. The French company Norev started producing this model in 1970 and continued until 1975. I thought it also lacked the rear window above the engine. It turned out, however, that the manufacturer in this model did not make this windshield and the engine hatch is not covered. I made the missing lights in two types: clear epoxy resin for high beam and the other polyurethane resin painted blue for covered rally lights. The model was packed in different packages. Amazing work! Love, love, love the model. I wanted to gripe about your decal work, but then you blew me away with that, too. What is the point of that delicious chrome coat behind the lamps? And why did you not chrome the hubs with the tyres off? Still, a brilliant restore. My questions notwithstanding, you do incredible restoration work, and I have nothing comparable, so I have nothing to criticize. Well done, and, thank you. More, please. Also, is that Molotow chrome toxic, like if one wanted to paint their fingernails with it? Asking for a friend.

thank you very much when it chrome-plated under the lamps, the resin in which there are tiny air bubbles looks better. Chrome dries for a very long time, so on wheels I do it at the very end

@2:21 Your caption notes to be careful when adding baking soda, but that's not baking soda, is it? Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, and it's not caustic at all. Did you mean sodium hydroxide instead? @3:28 What kinds of paints do you prefer to use, eg, enamels, acrylics, lacquers? Do you use any particular brand? @21:37 I like to use an old paintbrush to maneuver a decal on a surface, to avoid tearing or otherwise damaging the film. @24:16 Your headlights turned out nicely! thank you very much. I'm not a chemist, but I use caustic soda. When it comes to paints, I prefer car acrylic paints and I always apply a clear varnish with a hardener I also use epoxy primer because it is anti-corrosive
