Ugh... I'm dealing with mold issues right now. Tested positive for 4 different micotoxins on a urin test. Left home. Been living in my Subaru in the south for the winter. But, I have to go back north next month and somehow deal with the house I left sitting there. I am a little woman, 58, with a shoestring budget. Also have candida and gut issues. Nitric oxide was so messed up a year ago. So happy I found a naturopathic doctor who herself deals with mold issues and is somewhat of an expert on the topic. Will I ever be able to live in my house again? Ugh...😢

One of the robust peoples Weston A Price studied were the traditional Swiss living deep in the mountains. According to him, they derived the majority of their calories from grains and dairy and usually ate meat only once a week. No real surprises that I've never once heard anyone mention that when talking about Weston A Price, but this info can be found in his book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. Anyway, been listening to Evan for a number of years now. He really knows his stuff, great chat.

I use an air purifier and dehumidifier but obviously if I were to have too much circulation with outside humid air, the dehumidifier wont be able to keep the humidity down. It's good to have some fresh air but if it's humid outside it's better to limit the airflow to let the dehumidifier lower in indoor humidity to a reasonable level to limit mould growth.
@EvanBrand
@EvanBrand 3 жыл бұрын
We love and recommend Austin Air purifiers clinically and you are correct that bringing in too much humid outdoor air can create a problem as well. This is why we typically put ERV and/or HRV systems on intermittent timers which run for 20 minutes at a time, along with whole house dehumidifiers in most climates.

Before discovering the mold, I was having symptoms such as dizziness and balance issues in the dark. Mold never crossed my mind as the cause because I live in a dry climate (San Diego). Bought a new AC unit today (variable speed heat pump), added a fresh air intake, insulated my exhaust fans and swapped out the old and the uninsulated ducts for new r8 ductwork. Trying to get the humidity as low as possible, yeah we see 60-80% humidity inside at times. Live in the San Marcos river bottom…
@EvanBrand
@EvanBrand 3 жыл бұрын
Great job. Get that humidity down below 50%! You may need whole house dehumidifiers. However, a variable speed heat pump running on the lowest setting may "sip" enough moisture out that you don't need extra dehumidifiers.

I was pretty fired up after watching this podcast, so I ordered an ERMI mold test for our house. Our 6.6 score shows that we should take action. So I looked at the fogging kit on Evan's site and was blown away by the cost. $750 for one gallon of a solution which is likely 95%+ water and propylene glycol?!?!? Hearing Evan speak, I got the impression that he is really interested in helping people, but this pricing says something different. Charging a fair markup on these products would let him reach and help so many more people. It is so disappointing to see people who are struggling with health issues get taken advantage of when they look for support.

In 2018 I lost 80% of my smell, eyes bloodshot, brain fog, extreme fatigue, and precarious mood. I did the usual stuff then finally someone suggested I go see an allergist who determined I was allergic to mold and dust (never had allergy issues in my life nor in my family’s.” My skin started breaking out in these large patches and things kept getting worse. I hired a cleaner who did my whole house and when she cleaned behind my bed, she found mold all over my wall. We cleaned the hell out of my whole walls, room, and house numerous times and had someone see if there was a leaking pipe somewhere. Anyway, 4 years later and I still have issues. Better than before but it really ruins your life. Thanks for this information. One side of my nose is tender and sore. Perhaps a infection? It's more complicated than this. I was in a moldy apartment for a year while at the same time receiving a T-DAP shot. I went from a high level athlete to bed ridden and nearly dead. It has taken me 4 years to crawl out of it as it is really hell on earth!!! The gentlemen that tested my apartment said that the levels were so high that if an elderly person or adolescent was in the residence they would have either been in the ICU or dead. I've tried everything under the sun. The problem is once the mold/fungus gets in your body it will move up and down your gi tract through your mucosae layer and then it bores into your organs and will not be able to be removed from the body. We don't give mold enough credit it has been around longer than us! I went on a hardcore high quality raw meat only diet and felt great and then relapsed from the sugar cravings from them attaching to the vegas nerve and sending craving signals, the die off was tremendous as well. As soon as I started to eat sugar I could feel the mold replicating in my body so there is something that is broken or damaged when it comes to these issues for mold patients. Almost like they lay dormant in the tissue and then when glucose is abundant they start to repopulate. I would say charcoal is a game changer!!! The average joe has no idea how bad mold is, I'm a tough SOB and barely made it out and I'm still climbing! You cannot get rid of a deep fungal infection once it gets in your body you can only maintain it. I would love to see someone get to the point where we can get rid of it completely from the body, it would be tricky. Good luck to all that are dealing with this issue stay strong!!
@searchingforwhatislooking
@searchingforwhatislooking 3 жыл бұрын
@vitharr Reach out to Evan Brand and see what he can do. Mold is so complicated because it's a living organism that is conscious. I think we down play many organisms and for that we suffer. I have never seen any expert that has completely got it out of the body. Paul Chek, Asprey, Evan, and on and on they still all have a deep fungal infection if they start eating sweats and goodies they have negative reactions and it can get out of hand once again. So this should be a sign that we're not there yet, if the experts can't get out of there body than it's 100%.

How do you suggest using charcoal, is it something you would take on an empty stomach or would you take it with a meal, I have a bottle of coconut charcoal just not sure when and how to use it
@andrewmorris2296
@andrewmorris2296 3 жыл бұрын
I take mine right before bed and on a (mostly) empty stomach. It binds to anything that is ingested with it, so if you take the charcoal with protein powder (for example), you would absorb less protein because the charcoal would bind to it. So taking it on an empty stomach would allow it to not bind to what you consumed with it.

My pancreatic elastase is low and my glucoronidation is slow. I take a pancreas pill each meal and 2 HCL and a digestive enzyme. I prob need to up my HCL. All my inflammation markers are high and I feel like S$&t. I have the wonderful HLA gene. Have mercury fillings. 12- and suspect mild exposure. Had chronic fatigue for, long time and my health took a turn 4 months ago. Now I’m getting adrenaline rushes reacting to more foods. Been hell. Histamine issues got worse once I hit menopause I’m the only one in the house that’s sick except for one other person that gets random hives but there’s definitely water damage here. Plus, I think I was in the room. That was the most moly because it was above a moly garage and I was in that room over 15 years.

I have MCAS...react to other people's perfume, laundry detergent, air freshner, etc. Also react strongly to other people's food cooking fumes while I am outside. It's a huge problem. I can't really go anywhere. Not even a museum because they all sell food so I react outside the building!! But I am also sensitive to many foods, especially grains. Been grain free since July 2019. Yet I am good at burning fat. Only 112 pounds. And if I eat the wrong thing (that I react to) I can lose pounds quickly. Like I tried this one product and I lost 8 pounds in 3 days. Then I was underweight at 107. I cant seem to handle sulfur foods at all. Have SIBO symptoms. And my mother's house was very moldy. I had lived there for many years. I don't know if it matters or not but I am a LMHR too. And I can't eat liver because I get severely bloated. Like I get gagged for days with no appetite, my waist gains 5 inches of bloat in like an hour after eating the liver. I can eat 1.5 pounds of beef ok but not liver. My doctor tested me for H. P. And I don't have that. What I do have is lots of food sensitivities and I think I have low stomach acid (left over from celiac). And leaky gut too. Before beef used to bloat me too but it went away and I was able to eat it. But I don't know what changed and why I can eat it now. And the multi vitamin I've been taking for years has 150 % zinc in it. Been taking that since Nov 2019. It doesn't stop the liver causing bloating.

I have been battling these symptoms for years. I originally did carnivore and killed off my candida which had me feeling so good I was convinced at the time it was the plant toxic compounds. My sister has been telling me there's toxic mold in the apartment for years and I just wrote her off as loony. I get tired mid day, tingly feeling in my brain with dizziness. I have to time meals because now that candida is back I cannot function at work unless I am fasted. Coffee immediately gives me palpitations and cold sweats but I cant stop drinking it. I wonder if turpentine can help break down mycotoxins

I have an inner ear infection and chronic sinusitis. I've moved recently from my old musky apartment to a new house and I'm so much less angry I can't believe it. I thought I was just an angery person. No more. So much of this makes sense. I already have glutathione and quercetin, so I'm going to take those for mold detox. I've also got a nasal mold killer. About 6 months ago, my ear infection was gone. I thought it's because of the alcohol and peroxide flushing but I think it's because I was doing glutathione and was doing nasal sprays (glucocorticoid) for my allergy. Huh... "Alergy." This also explains why I've been seeking so much sugar lately. Leptin receptors are critical. Man this is going to change my life just as much as cutting out linoleic acid. I've lost 30 pounds of inflammation. Thank you both. I also cannot STAND black pepper. I HATE it.
