Both are very different. Thais are more Asian both genetically and culturally. way less jealous, needy and possessive for sure. Filipinas are considered generally "more romantic and loving" and much easier to communicate with if you speak English.I'm happily married to a Filipina, but Thai girls are great also.

I took my Filipina fiance to Thailand and we had a blast. Filipinos can travel to Thailand as long as they have a passport. My Filipina isn't the clingy type at all. She let's me go where I want, when I want and she even suggest places for me to go. She doesn't mind going places by herself and very independent. She is definitely not like a classic Filipina like most of them are definitely very clingy and very afraid that you're going to leave them and trade them in for a newer younger model. One thing I thought was funny was that whenever we went somewhere in Thailand, the Thais would try to speak to my girlfriend assuming she was Thai and then shocked to find out she was Filipina and didn't speak Thai at all.

The Buddhist culture is laid back. MaiPenRai driving their life. Both Thai and Pinay are obsessted with food. Thai cusine is better. Education wise. Very similar. Age gap is similar. The traditional Thai will not flirt, and are really shy, instead of just claiming to be as Pinay do. Your guest finished with food. He is 100% correct Thai is an actual cuisine. Philippine is just food.

I am a Filipino woman, who has travelled to Thailand and lived for a wee while amongst the local. Probably a bit of an unfair question this. Nevertheless I have one fair comment. Food, Thai food, is so much better, hands down. Another fair comment...We can only observe from the nursing profession where the Filipinos are. No prejudice to either as a lifetime partner. I am lucky to get to know good folks from both sides. Yes, language could have been a problem in Thailand but through their goodness and kindness, we sailed through. I have to agree with Gio on just about everything. The Philippines is like Asia lite, there is a much more Western feel to the Philippines. Thailand has a Buddhist culture and to be honest a Western can't really understand it unless they live there for awhile and even then subtle things you can't grasp. Thai people will really just let you live your life especially if it doesn't effect them in anyway. If you stay in Thailand for any time you will get use to the expression "its up to you". Thailand is a good country if you are an extrema introvert. BTW I love the Philippines and Filipinas' and they probably do make the best wives in the world if you choose carefully. Good topic Paul.

Evening Paul and Gio, I had a Vietnamese girlfriend and it was a nightmare trying to get her to Australia, she was considered a high flight risk. Sadly it never happened Covid killed our relationship. Now I am talking to a Filipina online for about 5 months now and she is willing to wait for me where as the Vietnamese didn't and we were to together for nearly two years and I went there twice to see her. Thais speak poorer English but are also very clingy in my experience. They did not give too much space and were hurt when I asked for it. Th exception is if they’re busy working 6 days a week. If they’re not working full time, expect the same as a Filipina. I dated there for years. I prefer the Buddhist nature to Catholic but I hear good things of Filipinas.

I know the conversation HAS to speak in generalities, but we have to remember everyone is an individual and many of the things you apply to Thai women also apply to Filipinas and visa versa. My point being, each person is an individual and it is a matter of finding the right one for each person. Having been to both countries extensively, I have known very jealous Thai and very independent Filipinas, and the same for every trait you discussed. But a great conversation. And again, I know you HAVE to speak in generalities to have the conversation, so it is not a criticism, just a point. One exception, Definitely Thai food is better :). Excellent discussion. Both countries do have their strengths & weaknesses.....I believe it really comes down to what the individual is looking for. The younger me would want to be in the Philippines to experience the dating, the outdoors, and carefree lifestyle. The older me would go for Thailand because of better infrastructure and excellent healthcare system (medical tourism is a thing over there ya know!). So go to PH first - find yourself a really good long term partner - then deal with all the red tape to move to Thailand and settle down 😉

I am living and married in Thailand. I've been listening to the Philippine KZbinrs because relationship issues are very similar. I've also learned a little bit about Philippine culture as well. I think the two of you have given a fair comparison of women from the two countries. The huge factor, which you both mentioned, is culture. The Philippines appears to me to have a western(ish) Spanish/Catholic culture vs the Thai Buddhist culture. The Thai culture is more a laid back and there is a lot of living in the present. Personally I prefer the looks of Thai women. You are correct, less diversity. Diversity is pretty much limited to Thai or Thai/Chinese. Though I have learned that preferences can shift when you've been living in a population for a while. My Thai wife is not clingy at all. She is fine with my going out drinking with my expat friends, going to a massage, and going to my weekly salsa dancing. I won't go so far as to say Thai women can't also be insanely jealous. Language is a definite big divide between the two countries. It is pretty well known that Thais have poor English language skills. My wife's English is much better than my Thai even after years of my studying. My wife learned English on her own but there are vast areas that we can't converse in depth about. I have to say though that my ex-wife in the US was not an intellectual powerhouse so I am used to a relationship without that kind of discussion potential. I get that with my expat friends. Girls here are not flirty but they do see and interact with older westerners. That is, we are not invisible to the extent that we are in western society. Age gap relationships are absolutely not a problem here. I have learned that there is an interesting Thai/foreigner sociological impact to marriages here. Foreigners have high status for whatever reason. My wife, being from a poor farming village, would have had a low status in the past. Now that she is married to me she has a new status which is neither high or low. It is known as Mia farang. There are some interesting academic articles on this. I would be curious to know if that is true in the Philippines as well. Yes. I love Thai food too.

@@Thomas-tngo4eve Bangkok has a small but very good salsa community. There are dance events 5-6x per month. It is a mixed on1/on2 dance scene with some excellent dancers. The men are predominately nonThai and the women are predominantly Thai or Japanese. I danced 15 years in the San Francisco Bay Area before coming to Bangkok. I am very happy with the dance community here. We had dancing from July-December, 2020 but we are shut down now with Covid. I heard of dance events in Pattaya and Chiang Mai but I know nothing about salsa outside of Bangkok. I’ve heard that Vietnam and Singapore have good salsa dancing as well.

Great show, guys. I lived in Duma for two years and spent considerable time in Cebu over the years and spent about 7 years btw Bangkok and Chiang Mai. IMO, no more beautiful women in the world than a Pinay. Of course the language is a big plus, but looking at pure beauty, no one can trump a Pinay in my eyes. The biggest negative: the food. While Thailand has some of the best food in the world, the Philippines, essentially in the same latitudes, has some of the hmm, hmm, lesser desirable. Like a few others have said, communication can be an issue if you don't know Thai and we all know how important that is in a relationship. A big downside I've noticed is Thai girls are more selfish and money oriented even if they have decent jobs..and I'm not talking bar girls. Thai girls are way more attractive on average. Vietnamese too. They also tend to age better. They don't gain as much weight etc. Paul has never been there so that explains that. I don't think there is even any debate. I still prefer Filipinas and they can be quite attractive. The clingy and jealous stuff is a downside. That is not much of a problem in Thailand or Vietnam.

I'm Filipino and I love Thailand and The Philippines. When I retire, I will be spending a lot of time in both countries. When it comes to looks, I prefer Thai women. When it comes to personality, I prefer Filipina women. I find Thai women in general are more materialistic. Thai women are better cooks, because I love Thai food. I've read almost all the comments below and from my little experience with both nationalities of women (dated both here and there) I would venture to say it may be best to First go to Thailand and experience a few girlfriend relationships (and Not bar girls, you're an immature dipstick if you even think of them as being a viable wife material (that's called Russian roulette)) then go over to the Philippines and do the same. If (and I have no reason to doubt anyone) there is a big difference of ANY kind between the two as we are told so often in regards the "wife" and "nurturing" material - you'll be able to spot it in a beat! This will give you a better understanding of (yourself and know) what you want more.

"Best girls in the world" is very debatable. I'm married to a Filipina but is she better than any of the Canadian ones I've been with through my life? Not really. She's a good woman and different than the others I've been with, ... but there are real good and real bad women in every country. Just my opinion guys. One thing I will say as a person married to someone from another culture is that's not always as easy (neither for the woman nor the guy) as one might think.

My experience has been that the Thai values lead to a more functional life. The dysfunction in the Philippines is tied to the family mode and manipulation vs the independant of Thailand. Still depends on the woman but Thais usually know what functional looks like. Learning what functional looks like often isnt successful in the Philippines.

From the prospective of living in Thailand (14 years) and the Philippines (3 years) I can answer that very easy. The Thai ladies are more attractive, but the Philippine lady is by far better for a long and fulling relationship. The language is a far bigger factor than anything else, in my opinion. I'm in Thailand now (because PH is closed). I get a ton of online dating matches and positive attention here, but the far majority can only say basic sentences in English, and they don't understand half of what I say to them. Really makes it difficult to screen for which ones are crazy vs good girls, and really does not allow for much genuine connection. It's still better than the US here, but I'm looking forward to PH.

I find Thai women to be more "real" than Filipina women. A lot of time Filipina's only want your money - so they put on an act. They make you feel special from the moment you start talking. Thai women have offered to take me to places on their OWN DIME without question. They have offered to buy me food, take me to new places, and are generally just more giving. I've never been offered this by a Filipina - It's ALWAYS what I can do for them. Even the working girls who have stable jobs still want something from me. The language barrier really isn't a huge issue if you apply yourself and learn some basic Thai. The language is actually quite simple and they speak in simple terms. Thai people are more than happy to help and once you can say a couple of things, women absolutely go crazy for it. This is of course my own experience.

I chatted one Thai woman that has a good job on good money, but had her Australian tourist visa rejected 2 times and she's not happy about it. My experience with online dating between the two countries is it takes about a hundred women in Thailand to find one you can have decent conversation with, and in Philippines it's takes about a hundred women to find one that doesn't want your money, that's all thier interested in. Personally I think Thai woman are more attractive in general compared to Filipina woman. With Filipina women it's all about what's in it for them, they really couldn't care less about you, that's been my experience so far.

My Thai wife is 26 years younger than me. Age gap relationships are not a problem here in Thailand.

I know nothing about women from the Philippines other than what I read from bloggers, which is plenty. I do, however, know something about Thai women. My Thai wife of more than 20 years still puts up with this crotchety old expat. She doesn't have a jealous bone in her body and never has. No tampo there, she quickly lets me know when something is bothering her. I'm the one who usually just clams up. My wife is ambitious. She still actively farms and has a rice milling business. She told me that if I ever returned to the US, I would be going alone. I would never want a clinging vine, jealous wife.

In general women are not independent. I have a German wife we live in the United States. After a couple years I had to come back to the Philippines and stay for a couple years for business reason. My wife could not bare the though of being separated with me that long so she quit her job and joined me back in the islands. So independence when it come to being secure financially, morally and that sense of belonging is very broad and an almost instinct reaction to women in general specially if serious relationships like family are in the horizon., and it applies to men too.

The Philippines is and the Filipinos are Hispanic, but not as conventionally Hispanic as Latin America and Latinos. The Philippines is and the Filipinos are Asian, but not as conventionally Asian as its neighbors in Southeast Asia and Asia in general. I find it funny when I encounter Filipinos denying their cultural heritage to Mother Spain, saying that the Philippines is in Asia and Filipinos ethnically roots from the same ancestor with Malaysians and Indonesians - yet, when you ask them what time is it, they would answer “alas dies, alas siete, etc.” The Philippines was an overseas province of Spain for 333 years. Those times, Filipinos are considered Spanish and subjects of the Spanish crown, not Asian at all. So I guess if you like Hispanic culture then you would choose Filipinos over Thai women... But in my 34 years of living in Asia. I found that people are people, Some good , some bad.

The Philippines was a occupied by the Spanish for 333 yrs yet the number of good Philippine food dishes can be counted on one hand, why is that? They do make the best nannies ever wouldn’t leave my kids in care of anyone but a Philippine.

If all I was basing it on was looks alone, I would pick Japanese & Korean woman over Filipinas myself. There is a large population of Japanese where I am from in the US, and I have always been attracted to Japanese woman.

Do this again but Filipina vs Latina. Might actually be more comparable. Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Nicaragua are great. So many amazing women here in Latin America that are also family oriented, cook (way better food) and not materialistic. I came here to wait for Philippines to open and I have to say, I am super impressed.
