This video was really informative as usual Paul and thank you and JJ for making it. There is no doubt that ASUS is at the very top of the game regarding diy PC parts. All of the parts, except the WIFI adapter cards that came with z77 motherboards work right out of the box but hear what i want to know, when will ASUS support match the parts that they sell? ASUS support is really frustrating and slow. JJ pass this information along to the support department please.

for my own experience with Asus support, i would wrong u. i live in Greece and i have G53Sw gaming laptop which i bought from the middle east while on vacation. it had international warranty and in Greece there is no customer service facility for maintenance. the laptop electricity pin broke down and i called free support number where they identify the laptop through its serial number and shipped it to Czech republic where they fix the issue and i got it back in two weeks. it was great service. BUT the problem wasnt the service rather than the quality of the product, cause after they changed the whole electricity pin in the board (which was a faulty design) and the touch mouse cause it was buggy. the mouse broke down again and it lags a lot. and the screen has huge line (change its color when u press on the sides) going from the top of the screen till the bottom (thank god it's on the side not in the middle as i've seen in some incidents). i checked some videos on this issue and it turned out its unfix-able and u have to change the whole screen. and im out of warranty and cant afford to pay for new screen since im student.

Abakos if I had that experience I wouldn't express the view that did. I already talked to JJ about my two incidents with online support and he understands what I am talking about.

super pricey motherboards but no doubts asus pro is a quality motherboard.dont see the need for the rampage series when the pro version does everything. jj is honest and doesn't over hype the products, my cpu and asus pro motherboard runs at 4.4 ghz using the auto overclock feature. no complaints at all.

Question for Paul or JJ: Which one of these would offer the most robust (in terms of maximum potential and stability) for overclocking? Another question is, I notice the DELUXE board has a more capable PCI-E setup than the ROG board (16x, 8x, 8x for ROG, vs 16x, 16x, 8x for the DELUXE), what features makes the ROG board cost ~$100 more?

Strangely, though one of the marketing features of this MB (and its extreme price!) is that it is so extensively tested with other hardware components, it has problems with posting with 2X Titan X's (In 2-Way SLI only black screen appears and the MB shows q-code b2, which indicates "legacy ROM initialization" - no ROM ever to be plugged in the MB), which is a known problem with some MB. ASUS support doesn't do a whole lot giving just general recommendations time after time - check if all the cables are attached, reset BIOS... The reason I bought this MB considering its monstrous price is 7 PCI-E's and EXTENSIVE COMPATIBILITY TESTS! Feels like I've been... Either way it would take something extraordinary for me to consider buying ASUS products again... All components have been tested prior to installation, everything works fine when only Titan X is plugged. Different PCI-E slots combinations do not solve the problem. BIOS update did not solve the problem. All PSU cables were checked numeral times, different PSU cables vere tried, different PSU were tried. Switching primary/slave GPU's didn't work. Tried different DVI cables (I'm aware of digital/analog differencies).

Greetings Paul, surely would be interesting to see how real time data transfer goes on those Asus thunderbolt pcie devices. Per example having two high speed storage devices on two machines connected through thunderbolt. Interesting fact, MSI have made such thinderbolt device which has Alpine ridge controler integrated into the device itself.

Really, the only "complaint" that I have about the X99 boards from Asus is that they should have just copied the Deluxe's heatsink design over to the Extreme, and just paint it black and red to match the board. Seriously, it's so good looking, why not have it on there too? Other than that, the Extreme would be the board for me, had I not built a Z97 system last month. And with that said... Is there any chance we'll see something like a Rampage V Formula? I think the Formula series boards have the best designs ever, and don't lack any features. I have a Maximus VII Formula in my rig and it's been more than awesome.

you know, you guys chatted up the auto-tune feature of this group of boards and talked like the group as a whole had the feature. So much so that I dropped $450 on the R5E thinking I was going to be able to let it take care of all this for me. I have no desire to learn to OC and just wanted it performed for me. THEN come to find out the R5E "might" get this feature. I'm very disappointing and feel cheated and deceived. Thanks JJ, thanks Paul :(
