I've been in every one but the Pier and Pier 1st. Those both look exceptional but I have to say one of my favorite spots is The Long Bar at The Bridge with a champagne thats never allowed to be empty my work and endless plane spotting. It was always my reward for what usually amounted to 2 weeks of 12 hour work days in the mainland. Sadly a lot has changed but this brought me back. Cathay's lounges are beautiful, they always felt like cafés you'd find in world class art museums. Maybe one day I'll return. I hope so.

Loved my visit to the Pier First. Beautifully done. First order of business was a shower followed by a massage. Lunch in the dining room and then a 90 minute nap. My friends joked with me at lunch ... “they must have known you were passing through - they even had your favourite Vieux Cliquot champagne at the ready! We love traveling with you.” 😉

Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong have one of the best lounges in the world, and it's not one but FOUR lounges! What CX lounges have done in Hong Kong is an example for what other airlines should follow! Considering passengers are paying (or redeeming) good money for the fare. I don't fly as much as I used to, but Hong Kong (and now london) is the only airport I get to early because of the lounge facilities.

I love all the Cathay lounges in HK (although they're the only things I like about Hong Kong Airport, TBH). Spent A LOT of time in The Cabin lounge when my mum and I missed our flight and we had to wait there for hours for the next flight out. Especially like the pods.

I so agree WITTW, had the joy of 1st upgrades 3 times and even though the Business lounges are already awesome, The Pier 1st class is from another world. Not even 1st of Emirates in Dubai can match with it. Yet I guess the Qatar 1st can. Been at their Business Class lounge in Abu Dhabi couple of times and it is amazing so I guess their 1st would blow me away.

This is pretty old so the lounges might have changed a bit. If you have access to the first class lounges I would just go to the Wing and then Pier.

Quick question, the daybeds at the end of the clip, do you have to book those ahead or are they first come first serve?

Hi David, thanks for the kind words. You book the day beds as soon as you arrive at The Pier First. I don't believe that you can book them days in advance like you would in the Concorde Room. On the two occasions I've visited, I've been able to walk straight into a day bed although both flights were on Sundays.

this will be our first in Hong Kong with my wife who has severe concussion. We will be flying Business from Canada in December 2022. Is there lounge you can recommend that is quiet with showers? Was hoping to do a half day Hong Kong sightseeing, the Chinese Governement doesnt allow transits to leave the terminal unless a 3day Pandemic Isolation. We are hoping a place within the International terminal, we could find a lounge to lay down to nap from a long 16 hour flight landing at 6am that we have to endure a 9 hour layover before arriving in Manila. any input would be appreciated!!

I think Cathay Pacific has the best lounges globally. When you see a lounge with rack of lamb all you can eat, that's when you know that you are living it up. Other lounges stock up on mostly pastries, nuts and salads - cheap stuff and no meat save for cold cuts ( that doesn't count).

Hi Paul, great video, I have the choice to transit in HKG for 4 or 10 hours on my next CX flight, I wish to explore the lounges and complete some KZbin content. Is 4 hours enough time? I arrive into HKG at 2145 Hrs so it should not me peak time. What is your choice of lounge for Business Class?

Extremely impressive but if you only have time for one or possibly two on a 4 hour connection how do you choose? Sleeping for a little while then wine tasting with a good meal would be the plan. Absolutely incredible what CX offers. I sampled the London CX Lounge last week. Undoubtedly the best at Heathrow! Will you head this way at all whilst you're in possession of your Platinum?

The private day suites in The Pier (F) or the Relaxation Room in The Pier, Business would be the best place for a short nap, then the bar or restaurant in The Pier (F) for food and drink. I plan to visit LHR late next year but will have dropped to OWS (Qantas Gold) by that time so I'll miss out on the F lounge visit.

Hi mate, yep with a business class ticket (or any ticket if One World Sapphire), you can access the business class lounges. If you're travelling in First class, or hold One World Emerald status (which is how I've got access), you get access to all of the lounges. :)

I used Qantas points to pay for my A350 business class flight from HKG to AKL so it only cost $80AUD! :) All you need is to get a credit card and then put all of your expenses through it to maximise your points potential.

Great video! I guess it must have been exhausted to film all of them. I've got some questions.. 1- how many time before departure of you flight you could have pass security with you boarding pass? I think your raid thru all those lounges could take you more than 3 hours. 2- with your first class boarding pass you get access to enter as many CX lounges as you want? 3- with BZ class boarding pass can you access to all BZ CX lounges? I ask this because now in Barcelona once you access to a lounge you can't enter to another one with the same boarding pass. Thanks!!

Hi mate, it's up to the airline although you usually have unlimited lounge access to all of the lounges you would be entitled to. You should be free to come and go as you please.

Hi Max, definitely The Pier. The cabanas are obviously very unique, but I got bored fairly quickly and preferred the day suites view of the runway. While the Wing looks nice, it's almost impossible to compete with The Pier, which also seemed a bit quieter. What do you prefer about The Pier?

I'd have to say Hong Kong Cathay Pacific one of the BEST lounge(s) in the world. I like it's so convenient (4 different locations), as Hong Kong airport is very big! So you don't have to rush to the gate, the bathrooms are always clean, and have decent food. I would love to try one of the Qatar or Emirates first class lounges at their home base, but haven't had the chance.

I agree that the multiple locations makes it really easy to get to your aircraft. Check out my video of the Qatar Al Safwa First Class lounge :) The Emirate lounge is OK although less impressive than the Qatar one in my opinion.

Yep the Pier is massive and has heaps of different spaces to get some privacy although I must admit that I found The Bridge reasonably too as it was far quieter than the other lounges. I didn't visit the QF lounge on this visit because I ran out of time but it was great when I visited a few years ago.
