I love that Oman offers a stopover service. Qatar has a similar system and it’s really nice to give your body a break from flying. Hopefully, they continue it after the pandemic.

I had 19 very happy years working and living in Oman. I was there when Oman Air started with wet leased aircraft in the 90's and flew many times both Business and Economy with them till I retired in 2009. I missed out on them starting with the B787's unfortunately, but still remember the lovely hours flying with them, a truly wonderful airline in all respects.

My mum stopped in Jakarta in 1963 going to London on a BOAC Comet 4, She had flown from Sydney to Darwin the Jakarta. The terminal if you could call it that was guarded by soldiers. The Comet took 2 stops to get from Sydney to Singapore. She stayed in Singapore a couple of nights then took a Qantas Boeing 707 for the rest of the trip. It was a grind with a number of stops along the way. The fare was in Economy was more expensive than it is now. Over 1000 pound return.

Great video as usual Paul. I was especially interested to see this one as I've traveled with Oman Air many times over the years - almost always in Economy - and found them superb without exception. Onboard connectivity has been available for years - long before many higher profile airlines.

Plenty of airlines match row number to the cabin rather than the aircraft. CX is a great example where Row 11 is always the first row of J, then rows 30, 40 and 59 are always the first rows of each Y cabin. Helps with aircraft substitutions!

And Muscat is a beautiful city..so if you can, take that one-day stopover. If enough time, you can drive into the desert and stay at someplace like the Wahiba Sands luxury tent experience. As it takes a few hours drive, perhaps a bit longer holiday to explore both Muscat and this.

Great video Paul. Brought back some good memories of my flight in Oman Air business class from Muscat to Doha (I got lucky and had the 787-9 too). Note that you missed one of the best features of the Primeclass lounge, which are free first come first serve private bedrooms which makes it, in my opinion, one of the most unique features of any priority pass lounge

Yes, not to mention the often and easily overlooked additions & improvements from the smaller conveniences/details like the swivel tray for exiting and entering your seat without having to rearrange to the amazing menu and food presentation, and let’s not leave out the Bollywood movies! Not everyday (especially in these times of the pandemic) that one can enjoy such comparison on the positive side! And for me, it’s also thanks to Wingin’ It Paul! 😀

1:47 You last flew with Citilink from CGK T1 in 2018. CGK T1 is the designated ultra low budget terminal, hence why its outdated appearance. You have not, however, flown from CGK T2 where hybrid premium-low cost carrier Batik Air flies out of. CGK T2 is currently getting a massive overhaul and modernisation which will soon finish by mid-2021. A lot of other Indonesians, including myself personally, much prefer CGK T2’s incredibly exotic tropical resort aesthetics to CGK T3’s horridly failed attempt at a blasé glassy modernist warehouse architecture and interior. CGK T2 is truly a work of art, created by French architect Paul Andreu.

Had several opportunities to fly with Oman Air's bus class in 787 and 330. Agree it is a good bus class product. Love the seating arrangement especially on window seat.

Nice video as always Paul. We flew Oman 2 years ago in economy. I was really impressed with the low key but quality approach to the service. I’d say some of the other Middle Eastern carriers do it better in economy, but still very good. Business looks amazing!

I can only assume the rows atart at 10 because on some Oman planes, they have a first class seat, and they decided to keep it simple within their fleet to start business class seats to have them all start at 10

I have flown on a few 787's over the past few years. I will say that I love the aircraft BUT I am disappointed that I couldn't completely blackout the window at all. It's something that I/we were able to do with all other planes, sadly we cant do it on a 787. My first time on a 787 I thought my window dimming was broken until I learned afterwards. Oh well. Perhaps it will change in the future... Great video.,

I had the same transit hotel experience flying economy with Ethiopian from Sao Paulo to London. The hotel was a Radisson and we got dinner, bed and breakfast too. Shame our flight was early the next day as I would have loved to have a wander around Addis Ababa.
