Okay, my guess while waiting on the video: After the events of Shed 17, all (or most) biofusion experiments were covered up and locked away. Gordon's remains were experimented on, or otherwise found some way of regenerating. The treatment of biofused vehicles continues to be controversial, fueled by the entertainment use of Duck and Oliver (the "GWR Two," though they also appear to be entirely mechanical) inspiring the SLF (Sodor Liberation Front?) movement, spearheaded by Diesel. The SLF attacks the facility where the biofusion experiments are held to free them, but unleash Gordon, who rebuilds himself from the others and goes on a rampage. Not entirely sure how Annie and Clarabel tie in, but given the trailer that shows them completely made of flesh, they could have something to do with Gordon's horrific mutation. It could also be an attempt at cloning. G=Gordon, 1=1st clone

I’m done 3D animation (MAYA) before and it is without a the hardest animation software I’d ever use. But this is why I admire Shed 17 because i seen effort and Paul puts plenty of it in his videos.
