Thank you. I gave up going to salons. This is the haircut I was seeking forever and no hairdresser even after giving them pictures gave me this haircut. So I did it on myself tonight. I don’t think I did a great job but I tried. I think I didn’t measure correctly. Kinda difficult my hair is because it’s super curly so. Looks good but maybe I need better shears because I think I cut to short some areas. But thanks very much. I will let it grow a little bit and try again lol.

I'm late to this comment but I have wavy hair and what I do is use blending shears to cut and just do a little at a time. That way if I make a mistake and go up to high on a piece, it's not cutting a whole chunk of hair at once. Then I clean up that spot with regular scissors and move on to the next.

Hi Paul, I just found this tutorial and I think it's the best option for all types of hair (curly, wavy, straight). It has a lion effect, a 90s style, which is different compared to the butterfly or wolfcut haircut (with those, I felt like a bell). Thank you so much!

Loving your pony tail cuts really interesting to see the location of the ponytails then what you end up with making me think as a stylist about all my angles and using over direction

I love this cut! My hair is thinning as I get a little older. I did a wolf cut on myself last year and LOVED it but I did notice the longer pieces (much like here) would tangle and knot a good bit. I'm guessing because there wasn't as much bulk with the longer sections as there was with the rest of the layers? Any ideas or pointers should I try this cut? I don't want to rip my hair at the ends when I brush it again lol

I like the ease of pony cuts at home. Been doing that for years now but I find the rear length to be very sparse and stringy following. Ick. I’m always wanting a more rounded, less stringy appearance on the ends, more fullness (i never “thin the ends”), particularly on the rear overall length. I have pulled forward the rear lengths and combed out this portion into another small pony under the chin to get rid of straggly ends. Any recommendations? I have long thick course 2b hair. Unprocessed. Dont like how the ends look sparse in the back. Ty & great work!

When you do this in the salon is the back as straggly as it appears in your video? I’ve gotten tired of this V shape back so I’m wondering if this is just an affect from the ponytails.
@MavericksGoosed
@MavericksGoosed Жыл бұрын
I agree with you!! I have thinner hair so that straggly stuff makes for mega knots. I'm no expert, but, I'm thinking that if you don't do the deep V sectioning in the back like he did it would eliminate that shape at the bottom. Maybe??? Hopefully someone with some actual knowledge on this will let us know lol
@feliciaricci8839
@feliciaricci8839 9 ай бұрын
He cut the bottom sections parallel to the floor which takes out quite a bit of weight. If you want a thicker perimeter/bottom line you can leave some hair out of the bottom two ponytails, not including them at all - OR you could angle the bottom two ponytails up at more of a 45 degree angle to retain more weight at the bottom. Essentially he’s doing an undercut which is good if you have a lot of hair that grows near the nape and behind the ears, but you might have to modify if you want to keep more weight in those corner and back sections. Hope that helps!

Beautiful. If I did this to my long hair, would the butterfly cut be considered the same as the “90’s/supermodel layers” that everyone is doing (again)????

Would this work for curly hair too? I am thinking of asking for either a wolf style cut or butterfly cut, my hair is curly and down to my butt. Its been four years since I have had it cut professionally and I am trying to use your videos as a point of reference for when I do actually work with someone. >< Last time I had my hair done at a salon they made it REALLY short and I've been scared to go hair dresser shopping. Thank you for these videos though. It helps with knowing what language to use when I do look for a dresser - as someone who is neurodivergent communicating isn't always easy or clear but knowing the right words - or point of references helps!

Or try he's hidden ponytail wolf cut videos (I have seen at least 3 here), with a longer layer on the back. They are really easy to follow and replicate. I was able to cut my long hair for the first time. I'm very happy with results.
