I use the same technique on my Panhard valve seats, but I insert a small valve into the stem, then place a thick laser cut washer on this, weld this to the seat in a circular pattern, the heat shrinkage on cooling pulls in the seat, and you can tap out the old one easily without fretting. I spray the aluminium head with anti-spatter. It works for me.

you know if you just put 4 weld spits or 4 corner style welds ont he seats they fall out right? the weld spots pull the metal tight and shrink it. you don;t need extra metal to pull the seats.

wouldn't this cost more than just replacing the head, or do people donate things to you to just make repair videos? It's pretty cool how you fix things. My dad was a machinist to but he did more welding of stainless and aluminum and a little bit of cnc machining.
