Nah, you'll get tired of me if I pump out too many videos. I'm thinking maybe monthly for this kind of video, in addition to my weekly leagues. Have some other ideas as well, but I don't think I have the technical prowess to be able to fully realise them.

I wanted to make it as nice as I could, but since I don't have the editing chops making a nice looking powerpoint seemed the best way. Pauper is great and I just want to see if I can get others to appreciate it as much as I can.

I love data, I love MtG content. Thank you Kirb for this video ! 🙌 One in a month sounds good, as you said it : meta doesn't change that much. Would be nice too to have for each expansion a short video about the cards you think that will fit in some decks 😅

There is a lot of people that already make videos on cards from new sets. I'm not quick enough to get in before them and I'll probably just say the same things. I'll find some other content avenues that others haven't gone down like this one.

Hi5 awesome meta video. Your outlook to attack current meta decks from a different angle is why I enjoy your content so much; on top of being a really solid player. I also liked your video or two of burning play points, picked up something that wasn't really viable and ran it through a league.
@Kirblinxy5 ай бұрын
No one watched Burning Playpoints though, which is why it semi-retired. I might bring it back after a bit, if I find a deck that is cool but has a hard time winning. I like to think the April Fools video was an honorary Burning Playpoints video.

Absolutely mega! We need need need need these regularly, be better to highlight a deck "after the big 5" to show their good/bad Matchups! Be great to see and get an understanding 😊
@Kirblinxy5 ай бұрын
That was the idea, but I didn't feel confident that the matchups had enough games played to make any concrete conclusions. I feel with an extra month of data I might have that confidence and will definitely do some matchup analysis on other decks.

"I don't like playing the meta, I like playing stupid decks" is my favorite. I've sort of casually compiled similar info at my local store since I don't play online. This video and similar are super helpful to see what is being played overall since it's harder to test out a new deck if you can play max 1x a week. I LOVE the top 5 deck nicknames.... The King smh my own personal nemesis.
@Kirblinxy5 ай бұрын
Couldn't really think of a good nickname for Gardens. I notice a lot of people give the deck flack, but it just comes in does it's job against the creature decks and leaves. It does good work for the format. It generally hurts me inside if I register a deck that a lot of other people have for the same tournament. Nice to meet another 'stupid deck' player.

I think once a month should be a good timeframe. That's pretty much how large this dataset was and I think it was large enough to see some trends.

Not really surprising, that both glitter decks show a bad win rate, considering we've been stacking our side boards against dominating decks for a long time now. First it was Azorius Affinity (and Grixis Affinity to an extend), then it became Azorius Glitters, for which most of the former side board still works, and the Boros version is just as vulnerable, if not even more vulnerable to the side board cards. What really surprised me, tho, was the fact, that Ponza is still that big. Also, Delver is gone for good as it seems.
@Kirblinxy5 ай бұрын
I feel like Ponza is another of those 'Gambling' decks. It is pretty easy to play, you just need to hit the right half of your deck and your opponent can't do anything about it. This is why we need to appreciate the red menace, if it wasn't for red, Ponza would be winning a lot more.
@neros_soren5 ай бұрын
@@Kirblinxy I agree, I am always for a diverse meta game, even as a control player. I wouldn't want combo to be the best deck ever, or in this context combo/ponza.

What's the new goblin? I wish an actual goblins deck would work.
@Kirblinxy5 ай бұрын
Reckless Lackey. I don't know if it will make Goblins any better, but it looks pretty decent in Kuldotha from other peoples testing.
@matthewmagda49715 ай бұрын
Counting all of the blue decks as separate archetypes makes the meta seem diverse when it's really not. This is a mistake.
@heathebutler71435 ай бұрын
Imo there is still value to separating the blue decks bc the different interactive cards and threats that supplement the blue cores can have a big impact on how matchups play out. If you want to combine the blue decks for your own personal categorization that's fine?
@matthewmagda49715 ай бұрын
@@heathebutler7143It might be fine for strategic purposes but for metagame health and diversity, it's completely worthless.
