Awesome video. Can the fur be exported with color to a poly only renderer? like EIAS3D. Thanks.

how can i bake the fiobermesh onto the texture itself? I just want to use it for texturing instead of photoshop brushes
@MichaelPavlovich4 жыл бұрын
ZPlugin > Multimap exporter to bake it into a texture (but you'll have to project the fibermesh geo into the mesh you want to bake it to), or export the fibermesh and bake onto any surface with UVs using Substance Painter / Marmoset / XNormal / Etc...

Hi Micheal, did you project color from image using spotlight to the model? And how do you get the color for fibermesh
@josuhuarte4452 Жыл бұрын
Hey did you get the answer??
@unrealdevop Жыл бұрын
2:12 I really could barely understand what you said and couldn't see it neither. I did figure it out, in case anyone else has issue's make sure you actually transfer the texture to Polypaint first.

Also, great job on the video man. I subscribed.

I was watching too at 2:15. So you set the base color to 1 to get colors from polypaint or?

Uhh You just jumped over how to attach polypaint colour to fibermesh? Its the only reason I checked out your video?

I know this is a year ago but its also for anyone else curious or stuck like I was. You cannot attach polypaint to fibres if you already made a texture, such as importing a model in with its textures will just give you the white (or whatever colour you have selected) and does not change to polypaint when you set the base colour to 1 and the tip to 0. Simply go back to Tool > Polypaint > Polypaint From Texture, then preview the Fibremesh again and it should work!

Hi Michael, first of all thank you for all your tutorials and videos , it really helps a lot .. I have a question , i sculpted a cat in zb, used this video method to get colors from polypaint on my fibermesh , it perfectly works.. But i need to export it to 3dsmax, and all my fibers become white (and apparently it doesnt have UV too) , so i tried to unwrap it with uv master but it doesnt work (not enough memory), and i try the uvfiber button but it doesnt work too.. Do you have a solution for that problem ? thank you and have a great day.

For 3DS max I'm not sure, but two big assumptions - that the fibermesh you're exporting will retain vertex color (polypaint) - curves probably don't, exporting fibermesh as polygons might (?), and the file format you're using exports vertex color (probably), then it's just a matter of displaying vertex color in 3Ds max, which I'm not sure how that's done

now that would be a pain to animate with so many polygons xD

Michael tolld me...when you finished fibers and your model is better rendering it in Zbrush or try to export fibermesh with model and rendering in Substance Painter ? Cos I got huge dilemma.
@MichaelPavlovich3 жыл бұрын
painter I'm not sure about, but zbrush / keyshot does fine. This fur was rendered in keyshot: www.artstation.com/artwork/ykWqWx

@@MichaelPavlovich and do I have to subdivive fibermesh before I export to keyshot ? Or if there is option of smooth/ subdivive fibermesh in keyshot ?
@MichaelPavlovich3 жыл бұрын
@@dawidwyborski3753 you can, but I usually dial in my subdivisions on the fiber itself (profile of 4, segments of 12 in the case of most of the long hair on the cat)

I'm not sure if you will see this but I figured I would ask my question here. I use Daz and GoZ. I have everything in Zbrush looking great. When I send the fur back over to Daz it doesn't have color to it In Zbrush I converted a texture to polypaint and have the fur looking like it should inside of Zbrush. How do I get the fiber colors that were generated from the polypaint from Zbrush into daz
@dawidwyborski3753 Жыл бұрын
Select in TOOL/ UV map/ create/FiberUV. And later TOOL/ Texture Map/ Create/ New From Polypaint/ Clone Txtr.
