Thank you so much for this video and the info in the comments. I have been umming and arring over a pet tracker for months, ever since our dog bolted for a squirrel within a dense woodland and was completely out of sight for a good 30 minutes. He ended up further than any of us thought he'd be. Thankfully we found him as we were short on daylight. Can't wait for it to arrive now.

@@ExploreVanUK Just a quick question. I am seeing a lot of Amazon reviews about the Pawfit 1 not being fully waterproof and breaking after a little exposure to water, like light rain. I know it has a low IP rating of IP65 whereas the Pawfit2 is fully waterproof at IP68. Again, the subscription is putting me off the 2. I rarely walk my dog in the rain but have occasionally been out walking and gotten caught.... Wondering if I should cancel my order and opt for the Pawfit2 now... Have you experienced any issues with it in rain or getting damp?
@ExploreVanUK4 жыл бұрын
Hi, we are regularly out in the rain (often pretty heavy down pours) and Juno also has a like of jumping around in rivers. Whilst the pawfit has never been fully submerged it has been well splashed and wet on many occasions and we've had no issues. We do make absolutely sure the Sim cover is closed properly every time we use it as this seems to the place water would get in if it was going to. (It might even be worth putting some tape over it if you are really worried about it) IP65 would mean Totally dust tight. Full protection against dust and other particulates, including a vacuum seal, tested against continuous airflow. Protection against low-pressure jets (6.3 mm) of directed water from any angle (limited ingress permitted with no harmful effects). So I think it would take more than rain / splashes to do any harm (unless the sim cover was open/missing) Obviously I can't guarantee you won't have issues but it wouldn't put me off getting another one. Hope that helps!

Hello. Does this collar require WiFi connectivity? More importantly, can the collar be turned with your phone?

Thanks for this review. Can I ask, for the international SIM card, how does that work...did you do a prepaid or subscription one? Was is reliable enough? We're in switzerland, so don't need a UK roaming SIM. Thanks.
@ExploreVanUK2 жыл бұрын
We use GiffGaff that are a UK virtual network that offer roaming across the world. We do prepaid as the amount of data the Pawfit uses is very small so a little credit lasts a long time.

@@ExploreVanUK really good to know, thanks! I think I'll do the same.

Thank you for the video it was very useful. When you were talking about the different models, did you say that the Pawfit 2 with the indwelling SIM would track better? EG in woodland. So would it be more reliable? There can be poor phone reception where we live and we walk in woodland a lot. I am not interested in any feature but the tracking in case out runs goes off.

Hi as the PawFit2 has a roaming SIM it will connect to all UK networks rather than just the one you put in the PawFit1 therefore it is statistically more likely to get a signal in more places. However it will always need a phone signal from at least one operator to work.

Can you track a walk? So it gives you the route and everything?
@ExploreVanUK3 жыл бұрын
I've never used it but you can create walk history in the App. For PawFit 2 it depends on the subscription plan you go for. Basic - 5 walks of up to 2 hours each Premium - 30 Walks of up to 6 hours each.

Hi please help i bought the GPS tracker classic,but i have a problem setting up the virtual fence ,its so confusing it doesn't state if the house symbol is the fence ?and how to adjust it ,if only they sent proper instructions
@ExploreVanUK4 жыл бұрын
If you mean the Safety Zone, you just click on your pet profile, go to advanced settings, Select Safety Zone, then hit the + symbol. You'll then get a map, position the house symbol at the centre of your Safety Zone and then stretch the shaded area to the size of zone you want, you can also pick between a round area or a 4 sided one which lets you move each corner. Then hit save. You can toggle the zone on and off using the switch.

Excellent video, can it be any sim? Cheers

It is a nano SIM and it needs to supports GPRS data. We use a GiffGaff pay as you go, but I know Vodafone, O2, EE and Tesco also work. Apparently data only SIMs won't work.

Hi there which giff gaff sim did you order ? I’m presuming it’s a nano sim but which one do I need to order ? Is it just a standard nano sim ? Usually with pay as you go sims. You have to top up certain amount every month . And if you don’t use the credits it’s tough look how does it work in more info please . I really want some of theese for my pack I have 3 miniature dachshunds and a westie Jack Russell . Thank you hope you can help: ooh I should also mention I am a sky mobile customer for £6 a month I can add on a line with roll on data . Would I maybe be better going with that ? I know form past experiences I have had pay as you go sims and when you topped up you got your allowance for 30 days then that was it nothing left had to top up again: but if you didn’t use yours allowance it never rolled over. I don’t want to be stuck topping up 4 sims every month say £10 per sim for example I can’t imagine they would use anything remotely close to £10 worth of data per month. Please help thank you
@ExploreVanUK4 жыл бұрын
Hi just the standard Giffgaff pay as you go data SIM works fine for us. ie no goodybag. The credit doesn’t expire unless you leave it switched off for 6 months and as it’s only 5p a MB and we usually use no more than 3Mb a month it’s a no brainier. We put £10 credit on about 2 years ago and currently have £7 Credit left. We do only use the PawFit when we’re walking the dog off lead. If I remember correctly if you had it on 24/7 it would be expected to use around 100MB a month.

ExploreVan UK so I’m looking for a standard nano sim from them then? No goody bag etc ? The only ones I can see on there website has goody bags though. I want to be able to Just top it up as Ans when I need too like yourself/ my lot will be wearing there collars every walk we do twice a day for all four is more than enough for my gang. Is it the one where they send you SIM card for free ? And you say it’s a use every 6 month or they will deactivate it ? Well that’s fine there going to be in use 2x a day. Just don’t want to top them all up in January then find in February all my allowance has used up etc I only want to top them up every 4 or 6 month idealy im terrible with memory and so so much going on I’m a very unwell man with many medical issues you see: Ans one less thing to remember is always good. So a sim I top up once or even twice a year would be perfect for me/
@ExploreVanUK4 жыл бұрын
Yep that’s right, just order a free sim and put £10 credit on, as long as you keep using it the credit won’t expire until you have used it all. You can set it auto top up when it runs low if you want. But I just have it so it emails me. But so far I’ve not had top it up at all.
