Don't be silly, he was far more ingenious than that. After locating the chair in his dining room, he was able to get online and lo and behold, he discovered that by typing in "Lincoln in a chair" he was able to retrieve a photograph that undeniable proves that Lincoln was in the habit of sitting in chairs. That's when he knew that he hit the jackpot.
