Happens. I did a loan for $5k on a Mercedes SUV, they came back 2 days later because we were legally required to register the vehicle as encumbered, since they owed us money on it, and they weren’t able to get the $10k loan they wanted, so they sold it to me for another $10k.

Depending on what the engine size was in it, he could have found a Magnum enthusiast who would have paid at least 20k if it's the Srt8 but I doubt that's what he had in it or he would have rebuttled the offer. So it was probably the 3.5 or 2.7 v6 which he should have known most he could get was less than 2k.

And then he comes back with 40 grand where he got lucky and won, he says he'll take the car back now, they are willing to shake his hand and wish him well, but then he has a thought of going back to win some more, and says he'll be back later to get it, to which they tell him that they'll see him later then as they go about their business as usual. Several hours later he comes back and tells them he lost it back and that three grand is now down to only $300, to which they apologize for his misfortune, and then sure enough they keep the car and he goes home feeling horrible, knowing he should've taken that car back when he had 40 grand when he had the chance.
