I am a car salesman and I will agree with that 100%. Even something small like rims and tires on a vehicle you will get ZERO more dollars for when it comes time to sell. As a matter of fact I cannot name how many times we have taken a trade in with rims and then were asked to replace them with factory setup before they would buy. You want value? Keep it original, take it to the dealership you bought it from for all maintenance and repairs and keep records with vehicle and keep miles low. That's all.

If you're into customizations, make sure it's something you can keep forever because if you decide to sell it will lose value. Customizations on any vehicle will lower value since not everyone likes the same customs. My favorite customs won't be the same as the next guy's favorite customs. So if you custom a vehicle and plan on selling it later on, make sure you turn it back to stock so you'll get more money back from it.

130 was a fast bike in the 60's. Well over 200 is a fast bike now. I purposely rusted it, this is very highly skilled work? You don't weld things like motorcycle chain or valve springs. These are high alloy steels and they are not designed to be welded. This guy is just lucky he hasn't demasculated himself yet. (this isn't a real word). Most of the welds I can see do not even pass visual inspection, what they tell me is that he really just doesn't know how to weld. I would put his labor cost at $0. They wouldn't even let this guy into the the shop at places I have worked. BTW guys if you run into anything made out of rebar it is NOT weldable either. There is rebar that is weldable but it is very very rare.

You never really know what's fast. I had a 77 Honda Gold Wing. Was a beater. Used to get back and forth to work. Once a month I'd fill it up with Ultra and Cam 2 racing fuel, take it out on the weekend and blow the "Carbon" out of it. Minding my own business going down the highway. A so-called fast very expensive rice rocket came by me, he thought he had a fast bike. At the end of it all, he was very confused and somewhat sad.

Guys I need to point out to you that custom doesn't always mean devalued and it's even been shown here on this show. I just finished watching another pawn stars bike clip where he bought a frame for 3,000, spent 15,000 at Dannys to build, only for it to then be appraised by them to be valued around 25-30k. Your arguments about custom making things cheaper afterwards don't hold up, but obviously this is a pawn shop where they need to make money. At first glance I was thinking Corey would offer 3500 for this one looking to sell it right around what the expert valued it at not because its only worth so little, but because these are instant cash offers that the seller already knows he'll get the least amount possible for an item

Anything without a rear suspension and a thickly padded seat is made for parking not for riding.

I would argue differently - I won farthest travelled award on a hardtail with a solid metal seat pan riveted to the frame :P I also rode Lands End - John O Groats on a hardtailed and overforked Yamaha FS1E for the National Association for Bikers with Disabilities. Did I mention I'm disabled from a bike accident where I shattered my spine from t12-l5 and lost the use of my lower leg? Come to the Rat and Survival Rally, or the National Chopper Club rallies in England and tell us our bikes are made for parking hahaha

Lmao... his opinion is 100% right. People who ride bikes like that want to build them theirselves. I wouldn't pay more then 3 for that thing.. me Personally would never want to ride something like that ..you can get a high end clean modified Motorcycle that goes 150-160 for under 12grand

my 1977 XLCR would smoke that bike . a 1000cc bike that weighed 420 lbs . and 130 for top speed ? i hit 145 on my sporty and STILL had a good bit of throttle to twist up . never did find top end on it . . . it got a speed wobble at 145 so i never went higher . it's all in the gearing .

That Rat Bike is no more than an Art Piece. No one is going to pay much over ten grand for that POS bike. Craigs List has literally dozens of Harleys in all different configurations from twenty different years, from Rat Bikes to $30,000 three wheelers. Yep the motorcycle guy is correct but now that we know the average price of a Rat Bike they'll only offer him 3 to 4 thousand for it.

The motors worth 5000 come on that's what they get for trying to deal with a pawn shop they're always going to try to rip you off I wouldn't pay 15 for it but I'd give him 10
