he's a small business. he takes all the risk. the best he can do is 1/3 of market value (which is actually pretty typical of pawn shops hence their 3-to-1 universal logo) he needs to get it framed and that's gonna cost like $1,500 (ya, right...)

Rick has shown plenty of times he's fair. It's a Pawn Shop not an auction. Anyone with a IQ above room temperature knows you don't get the full value of an item at a pawn shop as they need to re sell it. You're probably the same jackass who cuts someone off without a blinker and gets mad when they honk at you

There was an episode where his framer did appear and his prices was actually very low. Rick wanted 4 or 5, 3ft by 2ft pics framed with double backing and glass. The framer guy did them for only around 220 bucks each (apx).

@@sydclark5581 Anyone whos charging you thousands for framing is a scam artist. All they have to do is measure where they're gonna cut twice, make 3-4 cuts per piece of the frame, put down matting and a uv glass panel. That's only 45-60 minutes of work. And materials are less than $50

Seriously, go to a custom framing shop. You will not BELIEVE how expensive high end framing can be. There's molding that can cost over 50 bucks an INCH.

Things in general.. sure. Like action figures based on the movie. But a WW2 movie isnt going to make someone go out and buy WW2 paintings. Especially from a Pawn Shop. This painting will probably take awhile until they happen to find someone whobis both interested in WW2 collecting and art. That kind of overlap isn't common.

That handwriting of Einstien went for like 50,000 at the least. Recently a note from Einstien sold for 1.5 million. That price of 6000 is ridiculous.

Observing the show, it appears that Corey figures to mark items up 100% (double the buying price), while Rick consistently marks up items only 50%.

Once you take away the racket that is the art world framing is incredibly cheap. A skilled frame can frame things in under an hour and the materials are like $50 for a large frame
