Any good Judy collector or anyone who does any bit of research knows that you definitely can get what he wants for it from the right person, maybe more. The last thing you do is take it to a pawnshop, you take it to someone who actually knows what they're talking about, I feel like for any collector that's obvious though. Also that guy's comment about her value being kept down isnt true at all. People pay ridiculous amounts for Judy.

The letter was sold at an auction for 6k. Given the fact that auction takes as low as 20% and as high as 50% cut, the seller got somewhere between 3k-4.8k. That means that Rick's offer of 1.5k was almost spot on in regards to lowest that the seller would have made.

If you watch any off-screen interviews with the guys from the shop they admit they have designated filming days and the producers wait outside on interesting people/things showing up, ask them to hold off until they phone the experts then bring them in to film once everything's in place. It's no massive con or secret. It has to be that way to make a show.

The man did good job that he didn't sell it to rick as rick was going to resell it for 15000
@DIDYOUSEETHAT1723 жыл бұрын
So he demands 15 grand but believes it would go for 10 grand in auction. But may not have sold at all as it is listed as going into auction in 2016, but no verification that it sold. Which is usually published by the auction house as advertisement for their success and diversity of items. So if it sold for 4,000 minus the entry fee which they charge in case the item does not sell, and 20% of the sale. So he may have made around 2800 off it. But it does look like there was no interest. Anyway Nov 8 2016 notice of intent, but no verification of sale. "A revealing love letter written by Judy Garland to Frank Sinatra is heading for sale in an online auction of entertainment memorabilia. The four page handwritten letter dates from 1949, and is expected to sell for more than $4,000."
