You're entitled to your opinion, but I can assure you with 100% certainty that every segment on Pawn Stars is written, edited, shot with multiple takes, and in a nutshell, completely fake. Take an item in there to sell and see if Rick or Corey comes up to the counter......you won't see them anywhere. The way they haggle and make deals just does not happen that way in real life. The only people that would believe that this show is real are people that have never been to a pawn shop or never bought/sold second-hand items.

That's just the nature of TV. But claiming it is scripted to the point that it "in no way reflects reality" is nonsense. The extent to which they are scripted is as far as is needed to make the show. Anything more would be risky, as it could undermine the popularity of the show -- if people think it's fake, they're not going to watch.

I am a small boardgame publisher and designer. I teared up when I saw the everlasting gobstopper--there really is no better symbol of imagination and childhood wonder. I feel everything I'm trying to do, all the ideas I play around with, in the end, is just me trying to make my own everlasting gobstopper. WW is an incredible movie and that prop deserves the awe we see on Rick's face.
