I will say this, a 1000+ mile ride to Sturgis is a brutal ride until you cross into SD. Thats when it gets cooler. Coming through Nebraska I ALWAYS hit a couple storm in each direction, and usually at least 1 is a hail storm. No i dont stop, I slow down, Or maybe take 5 and put on my rain gear and slog through it if its a big storm. I run from near the Mexican border to sturgis. I rarely take the same route Twice.

Rick is right. I've never ridden a motorcycle but I heard you can get fatigued after a while having the wind blowing against you for hours. 1100 miles is a lot. And where do you keep your stuff? Mail it there?
