I can figure out why there are so many haters for the pawn shop. You CAN NOT get top retail price at a pawn shop. Duhhhhh. Advertise it or place it in an auction and sell it if you think its worth 90k. Btw with the catalogue fee and the auction commission if it does sell for 90k at auction (doubtful) he will only see $77 to 78 k. Oh, and another BIG surprise, the auction will file a 1099. shield nickel > V/Liberty nickel > buffalo nickel > Jefferson nickel. That's the progression. The first US coin made in nickel was the 3 cent nickel. There were also 3 cent silvers and half dimes made from silver, so lotta weird overlaps.

Age has nothing to do with the value of a coin. Mintage figures, how many are available in the market and condition are the mitigating factors in the value of a coin.
