Wow, im actually impressed. most kitchens nowadays a cluttered with useless gadgets that never get used but 10mins/Lb is half the normal 20min/Lb for meats an iv often had to fall back to my camping stoves when we have power cuts or flooding. one of these would let me help the whole street and being smokeless i wouldn't have to stand out in the poring rain. i don't see any reason this couldn't be used in-doors :D tyvm for the heads up, ill keep my eye open for one in the uk :)
@DoingItCheap7 жыл бұрын
Mate, if you used this indoors, you would become another statistic !! That much flame would suck a LOT of oxygen out of the room ! But IF you do get one and try it indoors, tell us how it went if the house doesn't burn down !!!
@michaelbewick60477 жыл бұрын
hmm good point, but then a fireplace can burn really fierce if the winds up especially if you have a back boiler fitted they must soak up more oxygen than a single gas burner..hmmm what was that thing about curiosity and cats o.O ? think ill be best to get a normal gas oven for when the electrics out,safty first an all :)

That fryer is awesome, and keeps my crazy ass from burning everything in the yard down.

That looked great! I always like looking at various methods of cooking. My wife's family will take a 5 gallon plastic bucket and buy gallons of cheap red wine and submerge the turkey in that with bay leaves and orange and lemon slices and let it soak for 2 days with the lid on in the garage and then oven roast it as usual and it gets so tangy and good. Way better than my mothers method and I'm sure it'll work in there too. The wine kind of pickles the meat. They have so many people over they sometimes make 2 full turkeys and ham too. Mmm guud! Happy Thanksgiving Bob!

@michaelsabella59247 жыл бұрын
this to me looks like your cooking in an oven, smaller though.. Taking 3hrs is no benefit. Deep fryer in grease lard whatever takes 1/3 the time. So I guess unless the taste is exceptional I dont see the benefit of this .. Maybe if you listed some of the benefits like compared to the oven or deep fryer this would be more convincing I guess. Thanks for the video though.....
@DoingItCheap7 жыл бұрын
Well, there is the cost of the oil that you do not need to purchase for this cooker !!!! This frees up the oven for other things. The taste was AWESOME !! The danger factor from grease boiling over and splashing was eliminated !!
@donaldcole18035 жыл бұрын
Maybe you should have listened to all the reasons he gave in the video. You seem pretty determined to discount the benefits of this. First, there is no chance of burning down your house with a 'grease fire'. Secondly, it would take about 100 minutes to heat the oil for a deep fryer, then deep fry a 15 lb turkey. It takes about 150 minutes to cook one in The Big Easy. So your false claim of '1/3 the time' is... totally false. Also - the expense of the 2.5+ gallons of peanut oil is eliminated, as well as the hassle of dealing with the oil after cooking. I deep fried turkeys for almost 25 years, then I finally converted to this four years ago. I won't go back to frying. It has no benefits (except one hour or less of cooking time) over the infrared cooking. It does has several detriments. So, convert or not, but don't ignore the obvious benefits.

No need to get rid of the old oil...and it’s definitely cheaper.....and healthier

COMMENT and QUESTION ... This is perfect for those who are nomadic with their RV's. Any idea how much fuel it used for that amount of cook time?

Your puppy looked like it was just praying for a bite at 18:20 looks like an awesome bird but do you think the fryer /open baker is worth the money and propane? Just asking
@DoingItCheap7 жыл бұрын
Worth every penny compared to a deep fryer full of oil. No oil to buy and no spillage to worry about getting on you. Much safer and it was delicious !! Propane here is less than $20 a bottle. Ten minutes per pound of meat.....that is a LOT of meat cooked on one bottle. Also it frees up the oven in the house for Momma !!!
@RaisingHellAgain7 жыл бұрын
DoingItCheap Thank you I just might need to invest in one of these, Merry Christmas
@DoingItCheap7 жыл бұрын
It is NOT ten minutes per pound.....I forget, but I said it in the video.
