Paws & Wheels II

After our surprise success with Paws & Wheels in 2018 many of you begged us for a longer movie or a part II.
And we listened, because there was another story to tell: the story about the journey of Oli and his super-dog Balu. How they found each other, how Balu became the amazing traildog he is - and of course, a story about their special friendship.
Follow Oli and Balu on their latest roadtrip in the Sunlight Adventure Van to the dolomites and be part of their newest adventures.

Lovely video, but the number of trail dogs I've had to rescue over the years is heartbreaking. If you want to do this with your dog (and it's one of the best things in the world), you need to manage speed, distance, and temperature for the dog. It's not a Mountain Bike Ride, it's a dog-ride. Go slower, stop more often, lots of water, on cooler days only, and keep it under 8-miles (12km).

Thank you for this video. I haven't had a dog of my own in years and had kind of forgotten just how great it is. I saw this back in November and it inspired me to adopt a dog in December. We've been running the trails together nearly every day..when we're not on the trails we're in the kayak. Thanks to you I have a new best friend.

Everytime i see the P&W movies, i get very emotional. Yesterday was the day of the days. Me an my dog rocks the trail together for the first time. After one an a half year of simple training she understand how it works. She runs like a storm over the small kicker und doubles. I love her so much an she makes me proud. She is MY special dog. And you Oli, you inspire me a lot to do this

I can't find the words to explain what this film made me feel, i have a dog too, i used to go to the park with him when i was younger and more "free" now i have full-time job, kaizer (my dog) is always laying, bored and getting old, i want to take him outside like the good old days, but my job is the problem. Truly beautiful film! It really hit a nerve, made me cry! It brought memories flooding back of my late companion Smudge. She was a white Staffordshire bull terrier. So loving and loyal. She used to follow me on my bike, through enything! She would shred the berms, clean all the gaps, and stick so close to my back wheel, she'd come home with a muddy racing stripe from her nose all down her back. She lived for it! She died in my arms, about six years ago, I still miss her dearly!!

After losing my previous baby it amplified my depression and I spent most days sleeping to numb everything. I’ve had my rescue for about 2 mos now and I’ve never spent so much time outdoors. I love hiking and he does too. He sleeps right on top of me at night and gives me that “it’s you and me” look all the time. We don’t deserve dogs but I’m so so happy they choose us

This video is why i love Australian shepherds. 12 years with my first 7 years with my second. Always up for anything, loves to run with you or run beside bike, or swimming, kayaking. They are called velcro dogs, they just want to be with you.

This is something where I want to be with my little aussie in 2 year. Just take him everywhere with me. Now, at his 4 month he herds bikes, runners, cars so it'll require lot of work and patience. Yea. My 2nd time watching. I think I see a smile on that dog. You should get another. A puppy that blue can train before he dies.( 13 years goes fast) but memories are all you got when you get old . The sad part comes when your trail dog gets too old and infirm to run with the bikes anymore. The love I have for my 12 year old trail dog is such that I ride less and walk with her much much more. Some day she'll be gone and I'll be on the hunt for my next trail dog. The joy shared between the animal and their master in these scenarios is unmatched.

I have a 14yr.old lab. It certainly is difficult when they get older. But she's still plugging along..she's lived an amazing life. .. i cant take her on trips anymore 😢 .. its too much on her frail bones. All i can say is, enjoy every moment ❤

Having raised 4 children and moving into being empty nester's my wife and I had to end our dogs pain from bone cancer a few weeks ago. The pain and hole in our hearts was huge to say the least. Watching this video reminded me of all the great adventures and memories we had with our dog. As my eyes watered missing my girl watching this video I was simultaneously lifted in spirit because we now have a puppy that is bringing smiles and laughter to our lives again. Thinking of how we will find new joy and adventure with Holly excites me and helps a little with the pain of losing our dear friend. I am glad to be laughing and smiling again and to see my wife smiling again. Funny how an animal can bond with a family at such a deep level. I had moments of not wanting another dog due to the inevitable ending but I guess this is what they call getting back on the saddle......and to us worth the risk and certain ending.

Thank you! Don't worry, Balu is well trained & they have been a team for a long time. Oli knows exactly how to "read" Balu. While filming with them there was never a truly sketchy situation ever. Even is: isn't it better to take a little risk, but have tons of fun (especially Balu) or stay safe at home? :)

Awesome! Just freakin awesome! My best friend and mountain biking buddy passed away at age 17. My new best buddy, as it turns out, has inflammatory disease, which means a home-cooked diet and no mountain biking. That's okay though. I've adjusted my daily routine to accommodate him, and it's been worth every minute.
