Pax Dei: Patch Notes But Where Is The Combat ?

Pax Dei is a "gorgeous" looking game, with some real cool building & crafting mechanics. But as of now, that's about it - everything else about the game needs a lot of work.

Really disappointed with what they have done with combat over the past 6 months.. Thoughts?

grey bears had a simular loot table to the black bears, but brown bears wouldnt drop anything

Thanks for confirming that, farming hide has been a brain dead task so paying attention is hard lol. Also did we get lied to about the combat system just being a "placeholder"?

They seem to be updating the game every week. I'm looking forward to this "reaction" change. For the record, they never said the game would be finished in two weeks.

Yea but they said combat was a placeholder over 6 months ago, then kept saying it. The only change I saw in that was a Mainframe dev post on the discord randomly like 4 months ago during closed testing still. And even then, they said it was a placeholder, making everyone including me think that they were working on a better system and we were just using a "PLACEHOLDER" and that would get REPLACED with the real system once it was out of testing ETC. BUT nope. That is not the case. the combat system we have been using this whole time IS the combat system, The devs IMO should have stated this better and clearly said that we are working on the combat system and it is currently bare bones system of what we want. Not that it is a placeholder and will be replaced........ Like I said, combat will make or break this game. and the devs "lying" or being misleading with their wordage to us all like that is a big red flag. Here is what google said and why I felt lied to. "What is the reason to use a placeholder? Using placeholder item is a common practice in design and development to temporarily fill content areas until the actual item is ready. It helps visualize the layout, spacing, and overall design before the final content is added."

Probably going to be a few weeks before we see any combat changes. Shouldn't be long though, they've now got plenty of funding to do it!

Mainframe replied to me on the discord, so "placeholder" was the wrong term for Mainframe to use for this, they should have said "this is our Bare Bones combat system" Here is what Mainframe just said about it on the discord in reply to me. discord.com/channels/1071081786962088018/1077535952500699146/1257448315826602096

@@zachbitango Hopefully it gets better fast. That's a demoralizing thing to hear. I miss 50% of my skill attacks and its a pain.

They have no intensions on revamping combat, as far as I can tell. T&L is coming out soon, July 18 = beta I think.
