Thank you, these are DG couplings. When they work they’re a magnetic uncoupling with delay. Wonderful things and not too fiddly to assemble. I’ve got a video on the channel in the workbench playlist about making them.

Hi Tim, they are DG couplings. They’re made from an etched coupling that is folded to shape and a wire loop that is formed on a template. If required a steel wire tail is added to the loop to make them magnetic. The tongue in the etched part lifts up and down to provide a delayed action uncoupling. Great, and not difficult to set up.
