This happened to me in January, when l purchased Prada make-up! I reported it straight away, and they replaced it immediately! But l can see it is happening to others, sad!🤷‍♀️😳

I thought to share this in case you are hearing more things about RealReal. I bought a Burberry trench coat, it came with wrong lining material in the sleeves, it had a wrong look and a wrong fabric. The seams were all exposed, which is not authentic. It was clear that either it wasnt authentic or was redone. They fully refunded my purchase, but then turned around and put it up for sale again without noting anything about the u authenticity. This is so wrong, and I can ot believe they would do that, but they are doing it. And misleading customers.

The exact same thing happened to my wife and I this week - with the same result and answers from Selfridges. Despite sending them the video proving the package was empty.

I have bought cosmetics online and received an empty unit box, product inside. Very hard to prove.

I don't buy bags online anymore, whether is luxury or lower end brands. 9/10 times are disappointing bc of the smell, the touch n feel, creasing, scratches etc.

I've bought several (not cheap) Selfridges items shipped to Australia & their boxes are definitely a design that doesn't allow you to open it without obvious tampering. She filmed it, should be evidence enough. This is concerning!

Once upon a time in NYC some stores would accommodate clients and ship an empty so the client could take their item and avoid NYC city sales tax. Some stores got caught and fined and I understand this is no longer done.

I am literally making a video on them now. They scammed me by not accepting a perfectly legal return because I opened the box. Uk distant selling says you are allowed to. They are refusing legal rights.

Years ago I purchased a gold diamond ring 💍 online from Secret Sales. I received one of those little black gauze pouches. Inside was a tiny pink ribbon tied as a bow 🎀 ⁉️ I did get a refund. I was surprised that it was effortless because I thought how could I prove it wasn’t me who took the ring. I have never shopped there again.

She should have created a CC dispute and not dealt with the company any all. That's what CC are for .

Always record yourself opening valuable packages! This has thankfully never happened to me, but I still started recording myself opening every package worth more than $100 a few years ago. I keep the entire package in view the entire time, I zoom in on the label and intact seal, and I take out and inspect all contents on camera. I also film myself packing and sealing up anything I sell online just in case a buyer tries to claim I sent an empty box or rocks. I have never had to use any of this footage but I'm sure someday I will 💀 Can't be too careful anymore.

Well, obviously something shady is going on in the stock room and shipping dept. Someone stole the item! A very similar thing happened to my friend in a local dept. store. She bought a Radio Flyer wagon for her 3 yr old. Took it home to unbox and examine...and there was a stereo system in the Radio Flyer box. This happened in the stock room of course. Somebody trying to play switcharoo, to move electronics out the door undetected, or so they thought. Somehow, a box meant to be moved out as stolen, ended up on the store floor, and my friend got that box. Crooks be crookin' in the stock room! When she tried to return it, the customer service manager tried to accuse HER of stealing the stereo. My friend wanted the wagon for her kid, and she kind of went all 'Julia Sugarbaker' on the manager....who happily exchanged the item. 😂 That said, I have ordered from House of Fraser London with no incident. Great transaction! ❤🇬🇧

I have two 2️⃣ invoices that I ordered the same item total weight 0.877kg package had been open and repackaged the other package total weight 1.847 🤔from Selfridges

Not fashion ... but luxury houseware.. Ordered a very expensive Dutch oven from Williams- Sonoma. It was a smaller one, but I knew something was wrong..box felt as light as a feather. Guys, I opened the box it contained two tight roles of bubble wrap. and "gotcha" smiley face sticker on top of the bubble wrap. Happy to say that Williams-Sonoma asked did not ask any questions or press me in any way. They sent out an immediate replacement and a sincere apology. Selfridge's should know better.

Not Selfridges, but an interesting story about BG. I was in NYC, purchased two expensive jackets and wanted them shipped home to me (no room in suitcase). One jacket arrived, the other did not. I waited, nothing. Reached out to salesman, told me it was coming. I waited, reached out again. Something was up! Lo and behold, a BG manager calls me to tell me they had to perform an “internal investigation” (must be why the salesman went dark on me eventually). And they found that there was an issue with the shipment of my jacket and they were able to offer me a refund. It made it sound like possibly a workmen in the shipping department was discovered doing something they shouldn’t have been - but I wasn’t allowed to know in detail what went on. They didn’t have another jacket in my size, and I didn’t want to go through more trouble so I took the refund.

Those e-mail opening apps don't always work. Depends on what e-mail program you use. Just FYI.

Interesting but horrible customer service. This is why I 1) have my packages kept by the carrier until I can pick it up so that 2) I film the unboxing in the carrier’s office lobby. The timestamp will show there’s no way I could have taken anything out and resealed it.
